Cloud: I've not even watched any Clinton tapes

Sheffield man Clinton Woods attempts to regain his old IBF Light Heavyweight title next week at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood next weekend.
However his opponent, Floridian Tavoris Cloud has claimed that he is so confident in his youth and energy that he's not even bothered to watch any clips on Clinton Woods.
"I haven't watched any video on him. There's no need. Everybody in the world knows how he fights. I don't need to study tape for Woods. I know what he's bringing. Everyone does." Cloud informed Bob Westerdale at the Sheffield Star.
Clinton has commented that although his win over Julio Gonzalez was respectable, he recognises no other names on his record - to which Cloud retorted that "We'll see how feels about my previous competition on the 28th when I add him to my resume."
At 6'2 Clinton has a height advantage over the stocky 5'10 Cloud. But at 37 years of age, will be conceding a decade in youth.
Unbeaten, big punching Cloud has stopped 18 of his 19 opponents to date. But has not fought for a year. His last victory was against Gonzalez in August 2008. Ring rust may be an issue. Also Cloud has only been 10 rounds once, with all his other victories coming usually inside the first 3 or 4 rounds by knockout.
A seasoned veteran like Woods should in theory prove whether or not Cloud is legit. Woods, who stunk the joint out against Antonio Tarver in December, bounced back with an impressive win over Elvir Muriqi earlier this year. Ironically Muriqi gave Tarver all he could handle in their recent fight wheras Clinton couldn't muster anything against Taver.
This perhaps underlines the theory that Clinton was just plain ill during the Tarver fight. However critics claim that Clinton loses his bottle whenever he fights abroad and Tavoris will end the Sheffield man's career next Friday.
Whatever happens, it should be a very interesting fight.

In my opinion that is a bad price.
It is an internet stream PPV, it seems like a rip off to me.

Should be £3 or so, internet streaming is not expensive to do and this is hardly a big money fight. Although likely they think only hardcore fans will be interested anyway and they will pay regardless.

I've always said £5 Internet streams are the way to go, at least until most of us have got the Internet on our main TVs (in which case you get your friends round).
For what it's worth, Cloud is definitely taller than 5' 10". More like 6 foot tall.

I think Cloud will win this 1 he is a classy fighter who looks very good from what i've seen Woods will struggle I see a UD for Cloud
I hope im wrong though I really like Clinton Woods he seems like a top lad

When Cloud beats up & stops Woods will the IBF immediately reinstall Woods as #1 contender?
Amazing how many title fights this journeyman is gifted.

He was the IBF champion for over 3 years, so it is hardly surprising that he is considered highly by the IBF.
It is not amazing that he is getting another shot at all, and Woods is not a journeyman either, he is a world class fighter.

Woods - undeserved shots v Jones and Johnson twice and loses all 3 of them - yet the IBF strip Johnson and allow Woods to fight for their belt yet again, and on Sheffield soil!
Woods is allowewd to stay at home & embark on a 3 year merry go round of fighting guys like Jason DeLisle or Gonzalez who was massacred by RJJ yonks ago!
Fights ;ohnson a third time - yet again AT HOME - and scrapes a decision he doesn't deserve!
Surrenders his belt feebly to Antonio Tarver the moment he leaves Sheffield, beats a nonentity in one of the most tedious fights of all time, and now he's getting another shot??

This'll be Woods last fight imo. I've been catching up on Cloud's fights, and I just can't see Woods winning this.
I'm fully expecting Woods to get stopped by Cloud, although he's gone the distance against decent punchers before. If he does see the final bell he'll be in a right old state.

He got the shots cos he won eliminators. hes getting this shot cos he won an eliminator. how can they possibly be undeserved?
and there are no british/commonwealth/european ibf champ journeymen

You have a point, but maybe go a bit far. Woods has never been 1 of the best in the world, Jones and Tarver schooled him and he lost all 3 to Glen Johnson who got ripped off a couple of times if we're honest. He is a good gatekeeper to the top10 though and managed 2 wins over ex-linear champ Gonzalez and the undefeated Hoye, which are good achievements
Still 'champs' like Woods is 1 of the things wrong with boxing, a champion should at least have some argument he's the best in th world Woods is far from that. I see Cloud stopping him anyway

I think that it was a close fight that could have gone either way, but I scored it for Woods.
I looked back to see what the British forum members thought at the time, and most seemed to think that Woods had done enough. You didn't seem to think that there was anything wrong with the decision either.

Well done Horse you have me there, after rewatching it I did think Johnson won. I had Tarver clearly beating Johnson twice for the record too
