Say's he's looking for a title fight come the end of the year at lightweight.....
If Murray wins (which he probably will) will he vacate and move up to compete for the European title ? Will he defend against Rees, if so what'll happen ?

Maybe a Welsh title fight this year. I think its too soon after the lay off to be anywhere near British title level before the end of this year.
As long as he`s kept busy, and still showing good form, then maybe next summer he could really be in the mix. His style would be great pitted against John Murray.

I think he beats Thaxton but Murray overwealms him and wins by late stoppage but he beats Thaxton on points imo

sounds like a good fight, but i agree with you and say that john would overwhelm gavin and stop him in the later rounds.

John Murray could beat Gavin Rees and Jon Thaxton on the same night!!!
Jon Thaxton is one gutsy fighter but I am convinced he has seen his best fighting days already and thus a younger John Murray would be too much!!!
The way Gavin Rees fights would play straight into John Murray's hands!!! - Murray would win within 6 rounds.

I think Rees should fight Scott Lawton for a test imo then if he wins Murray or McAllister

great that Rees wants to fight the winner.
it would be worth Murray staying at British level for this fight, IMO, because Rees is a former world champion.
If Murray can go Thaxton, Rees and Mezaache - with no slips - then this will be excellent form.

That'll be Rees's downfall I fear - and all the fighters promoted by Calzaghe for that matter
I really can't see him putting on many shows - if he puts on more than 3 a year I'd be surprised
