There are currently 2 announcements and 10 sticky threads, including 4 threads about the prediction league.
Does this forum really need so many sticky threads?

Can't the bring boxing to the BBC and ESPN threads be merged? They are rather similar topics.
The rules for the prediction league should really be a part of one of the other prediction league threads.

2 of the prediction league stickys will be dissappearing over the next few days - they would've served their purpose by then

That was the first thing I thought visiting just now. It's insane. I don't usually have to scroll down to see the first normal topic title. Bloody annoying. :x

I've just removed a couple of stickies. The British & Irish forum is very much Emerson's baby these days, so please drop him a message if you have any ideas/suggestions

Did this include deleting the August predictions??
Surely it is only worth doing that after the results have been posted because no one can check their scores now

Wouldn't they have just been unstickied, rather than deleted?

The Prediction League Rules could be unstickied as they're linked to in the first post of the Prediction topics.

Its hardly a big issue and I wouldnt say it was "complaining".
I find it mildly annoying having multiple stickies for no reason so I dont see any reason in raising that issue!

I am sure the mods appreciate your praise Spud but as noted by Sligobhoy this was not so much a complaint as a request for a review of the use of 'stickies'.
There are certainly far fewer complaints regarding the moderation on boxrec then there were on other british boxing sites where you had moderating rights!!

Having too many stickies at the top of the page is annoying to me and others. I thought that making a thread about it might lead to the situation being dealt with and to some extent it has.

I never said that this forum is poorly run, as I don't think that it is.
I find your post to be needlessly rude and vulgar.

Because too many stickies clogs up the viewing space at the top of the page. For someone who manoeuvres around the site very quickly, they get in my way.

its never bothered me i guess its a quiet weekend in the house of Mr Horse
Horse why not join the prediction league and then you find the top of the forum more interesting
To be honest, I would have complained about them if Horse hadn't. There should be no more than 4 sticky topics in a forum. Regularly changing content is what's important.

we should make this thread sticky until we decide what to do

Sticking less sh*t to the top of the forum gets my vote, and while were on the campaign trail i'll go one further and say less effing merging too. This has improved a lot lately, but is still an area for concern IMO. Merging multiple threads covering the one event can dampen the hype, kill the buzz thats being built. As long as the threads started are covering different angles, leave them the fcuk alone!
As to the current stickies:
I have only ever opened one of the current threads stuck to the top of this forum, the thread titled 'BoxRec to launch British boxing news site'. I have never opened any of the other threads, nor care too to be honest, and i visit this place daily. I'm not knocking the prediction league, i'm glad its being run on the forum, i've taken part in many in the past, just not in the last couple of years. But i see no reason why more than one sticky is required for the league?
