Macklins proposed career path

In boxing monthly on the special about irish boxers mackin outlined what his next few fights would be should be beat Amin Asikainen
he would like to have a voluntary defence of the EBU title against andy lee
and a defence vs john duddy
how do you see these fights going and does anyone know where lee and duddy are in the EBU ranking?
i presonnaly see mackin having a much harder time with andy lee than duddy with duddy being easily outboxed by mackin

How realistic is the possability of either of these fights happening anytime soon?
Either would be a great career move for Macklin if he could get them. More chance against Duddy for sure. Lee has a lot to prove now but would be more tricky for sure.

IMO on current form Macklin would beat - Duddy, Sutherland, Rock, Lee - and Baker!
But Duddy is moving down to LMW.
A big fight in a GAA stadium against Lee in Munster would/could be a cracker. Macklin has a lot of friends in Munster (Tipp and Clare in particular) and is very popular and I could see it selling very well.

i can fully understand why macklin would move forward with an asikainen fight. the apparent main reason - the purse bid for macklin-barker - has been flogged to death. but if macklin's making progress, moving up levels, then this is good. this should not be underestimated, when you think that gymmate john murray might have been able to have a european title fight but is instead fighting for the vacant british title, v thaxton.
however, wouldn't it be ironic if macklin, wanting to defend vs duddy or lee in lucrative all irish fights, were snubbed by those fighters who have their own career path?

if duddy is moving down duddy wont fight him

Duddy isn't currently eligible for the European title, he's not had enough recent fights in Europe(you need 5 out of your last 10 minimum).

OK Sligo, you can never accuse anyone else on this forum of going overboard about a boxer they like after making that statement!Current form? What you mean beating old man Elcock

Lee, Sutherland and Barker would stop Macklin. He'd beat Duddy and Rock but then again that aint saying much.

I was just about to say that Macklin is leagues ahead of Sutherland. And itwasn't so much beating Elcock that impressed me, it was the manner in which he did it.
Macklin vs Barker would be a real 50:50 and I haven't seen enough of Lee to comment, but Sutherland to stop Macklin... please

If Macklin beats Asikainen, then he would start as a warm favourite against any of those fighters mentioned. Barker is undefeated, but will need to step up the oppostion - Lee/Duddy have been exposed at a lower level than Asikainen and should be considered backward steps.
If Macklin beats Asikaininen - I want to see him go for world honours... he'll be ready. He will probably move to a very high position both within the WBC and the IBF, and should Pavlik move up, there could be 2 very beatable champions with these organisations. If Macklin proves that he is beyond domestic level by beating Asikainen.

I see him beating Duddy easily by Mid KO to powerful and is a decent boxer as well and would catch Duddy when he came in with hard counters. I see Andy Lee given him trouble he's a good long range boxer as long as he doesnt get involved I see him winning a close UD

I dunno about that, I'd certainly agree.
I think most polls were split 50/50 on the forums I saw for Macklin v Barker and that's where most people would disagree with our view.
Some would maybe see Lee outboxing Macklin(personally I think Macklin would cut through him), but outside of that there's got to be very few who would rate Sutherland or Rock's chances v Macklin.
After the loss to Lyell I couldn't see many backing Duddy v Macklin either.
