Yeah they have to announce a venue pretty soon. Fans (many of whom have already been left out of pocket after the Wlad debacle) need time to get time off work, book flights, accommodation and see how much the tickets are etc. Hayemaker were very quick to announce the fight and the date, so I can't understand why it has taken so long to confirm a venue.

Any views on the most likely reason this fight will get cancelled/postponed?

I've heard it will be Frankfurt but I'm not sure - what sort of venues does Valuev sell to? Not big enough for football - Burgwhatcher Castello in Dusseldorf would be ideal, think a German York Hall but slightly bigger...

Has Ruiz signed the step aside contract yet? My guess no, hence no venue, till everythings sorted I don't expect this to be announced which is a royal pain for those of us that want to go!
Any venue rumours Spud??

I want Haye to win as I think that would make a better unifacation fight with the Klitschko's but I dont think he will I see Valuev being to big and strong for Haye and cant get in range

My my Mr Haye doesn't like to make it easy for his fans to follow him does he. I cannot believe that they are leaving it so late for announcing a venue. There are six of us who are hiring a motorhome to go over for the fight but it's getting soooooo frustrating. Anyone got any ideas???? Or rumours even ????

Haye is terrible for this. Wasn't it a similar situation with Jean Mac with the fight venue only being announced a a month or so before?
Then the 241 offer on the Barrett fight with the people who had bought early getting nought!

For JMM it was originally meant to be September, then pushed back to November in Paris. Tickets went on sale 2 weeks before at the tiny Stade Marcel Cerdan and the deal for Setanta to show the fight was agreed on the Friday before the fight.

I suppose you could contact Sauerland Event. Even though you're unlikely to get an answer it will help to show them that people are interested.

Surely the motorhome means you aren't that worried about where it's gonna be mate!

Haye needs to sort this - likely at his peak (although granted Heavies can be prone to exceptional longevitiy these days) and a year out of the ring is just terrible/sad/dissapointing all those things and more.
If this does fall through as well I'm afraid it will prove that he should have gone and signed with an experienced promoter with resources.

Yeah Haye is always the away fighter, you can't blame his team for not being able to announce it

I'm a huge David Haye fan but the last year of following him has been very frustrating what with him only fighting once, pulling out of 2 Klitschko fights and still only having sketchy details of this Valuev fight. He needs to be careful or he will start to lose the support of some fans.

Haye was on Sky Sports News this morning, but nothing was mentioned about the venue. It's beginning to get on my tits.

You and me both. Especially as flights to Germany are £1 with Ryanair at the moment!

Please, no, not another cancellation or postponement! Its happened enough times this year already. Christmas will soon be upon us so I'd say us fans do not deserve any more scheduled bouts going by the way side!
Haye needs to hurry the fcuk-up. It will a year since he's last fought. He should have fought at least twice since then. He's young, had some momentum & he should have kept that going!
I really hopes he beats Valuev because with a title to bring to the table for negotiations with Vitali or Wladamir, they won't be able to offer him some shit, punk-ass fight contract!
Mind you, even with a win, Haye has to defend against Ruiz!
