Gutted I can't go to this as I've moved abroad again, but I'd recommend it to anyone with a pulse - I drove up for his fight against Pascal and unfortunately was a force of one as no boxrec'ers were up for a meet-up, but still had an amazing night. The atmosphere was absolutely electric :TU:

Venue, TrentFM Arena, Nottingham
Opponent, Andre Dirrell
Date, Saturday 17th October

This will be the second fight of the World Boxing Classic super 6, after Abraham v Taylor earlier in the night. Froch is defending his WBC title in this one.

I was really tempted to go, and I might still do, but shiiiittttt the undercard looks absolute gash. I know Hennessy's turned up some tripe undercards in recent months but this about tops them all and is putting me off going. If I do, I'm gonna have to get steaming drunk to try and pass the time.

Apparently the first fight is about 8.30, last entry is 11.30 and the fight is on about 2am. There is gonna be a lot of time that night with nothing happening.

I think I mite go, should be able to get a Travel lodge for about 20 notes this far in advance, I expect to pay something extortionate for the ticket, £75 unreserved? but it's not that extortionate considering the level the top guys are competing at.
I think the atmos' will be immense, Froch coming in to face the young, fresh, slick, entirely unknown quantity which is the American. This could have banana skin written all over it. However, if he does get beat, due to being guaranteed another fight at least, he should still be financially set for life.

I'm a Glover fan so I'm hoping he wins tomorrow. If he does, he'll be off this show as there's no way he'll challenge for an English title when he's already Commonwealth champion. But its a shite undercard though honestly. It might be passable for a small hall show, but this is a big time world title fight and Hennessy has just gone "fornicate the undercard, people will buy tickets anyway".

Khan v Kotelnik had the Olympians, Small v Hall, Brook, Enzo and Mitchell supporting.
Khan v Barrera had Cook v Martinez, Enzo v Afolabi, Pryce v Hall and Paul Smith supporting.

Obviously Hennessy hasn't got the names that Warren has, so couldn't put on a card of that quality, but come on? Adnan Amar, Young Mutley and Jack Perry is nothing compared to what Warren has put on on his big shows.

£45 for "premium" tier seating, £30 for the cheap tiers, then I think £125 on the floor and £300 ringside.

Not totally sure about the prices but there's a rough idea. I'll go for the £45 ones if i decide to go, but I'm gonna have to decide shaprish I reckon.

what does that actually mean though?

In the MEN when Barrera came to town I paid 100 quid. I did a recce a couple of weeks earlier and the lad at the MEN said ring this number and ask for this seat. I did do and I was bang central, approximately 15-20 metres from the ring (which is F*ck all) and I was elevated, to approximately a metre above the canvas.
In short, I had the best seat in the house.
People were below me, literally 3 metres from me, looking upwards, having paid anything from a hundred to 2 hundred MORE than I paid, and they probably didn't know what colour Barrera's shoes were.

I went to the Trent 3 years ago and watched Froch demolish Tatevosyan in impressive fashion. I was somewhere up in the sticks but the view and atmos were absolutely fine.

If you end up up in the sticks at the MEN the ring looks miles away in my experience.

Premium tier will get a very good view. They are the ones I've gone for (I'm dragging a few non boxing pals along). Think I'm in block 15. My view for Pascal was excellent.

I'm a bit worried about the lag before the main event, I really hope they put a big screen of Taylor Abraham on somewhere close.

Your nemesis :oo ???........How many Nemeses can one man have?

I was just panicking about the Taylor Abraham on the big svreen comment???.....Are both fights not on the same bill?

I'm quite confused about the format of this comp....are they just going off randomly around the world cos that what it sounds like.

Oh don't worry about the lul in action, now that Hag's going I can account for 60 seconds action.... :box:

You should maybe wait till after the main event before you embark on your "60 seconds" of action with me as you wouldn't be seeing much boxing sparked clean out :box:

I might go should be an intreuging fight could go either way with either Froch outworking him and being to strong or Dirrell outboxing him and using his speed and winning on a decision

i think Dirrell mite take him inside 6 or 7.
i just have a feeling he won't be as powerful but he will be slicker and too well schooled for an, at times, slow Carl Froch.
Lol Hagler I think not :shame:

The big thing that puts me off going is the time of the fight. I was at the Haye v Maccarinelli fight at the O2 and remember feeling knackered by 2am.

I was at the Pascal fight but I'll probably give this one a miss. I'll definitely go if he fights Kessler in the UK next year though. They'd have to use the O2 or MEN I guess for that one though, unless they do it around April time when they could use the City Ground.

Which TV station is showing the Dirrell fight? Maybe Tyson Fury will be on the undercard as well, although he is fighting McDermott next week.
