after watching last nights fight on sky i say no , he was lucky to survive that knockdown, looked out of shape and slow, which is to be expected after 6 year lay off, does anyone know when the board will decide if he is allowed to fight

How about that fighter, I think he was from Iraq (or Iran) trains with Jimmy Tibbs... Tall, lanky. Looks better than he is.

Larry should step up and take the chance!

Michael Holden is a top man - but he is too old in my view to bo at the top end of domestic level.

I'd like to see Daniel Peret in it as Holden looked poor on Friday and looks as if he wont last a round against the big names in the Prizefighter

Agreed he looked poor and I would fear for him against most of the people in the competition. But he's an Ashton lad so get him in I say!

He looked dangerously gone against a fighter who was about 4-30. It is up to the BBB of C, and although he has no chance in Prizefighter you would say the same about Hughes and Belshaw.

I like to think his trainer would tell him there is nothing left.

I would have been willing to give Holden the benefit of doubt before Fridays fight but being knocked down and nearly stopped by a 4-20 journeyman is just not acceptable even for something like PrizeFighter and every Fighter in the competition should at least have some chance of winning.

Also i think the same could be said for Scott Belshaw, yes he's 6ft 7in and only 24yrs old but the way he capitulated against Tyson Fury only points to him having no real chance of going beyond the 1st Rd.

I dont mind Coleman Barret or Danny Hughes being in the competition, i doubt they are going to get past the 1st round but at least they are young hungry unbeaten Fighters so there's that factor that one of them may emerge as a future star in the same way Martin Rogan did.

If i had to replace HOLDEN and BELSHAW and was being realistic, i'd go for one for the following:

Mark Krence - a good solid domestic fighter, probably retired but if he was in shape would make for an interesting 1st rd fight

War Machine - Even another defeat wouldn't be too bad a thing at this stage of his career plus if he was matched with Audley in the 1st rd, would have a chance of Glory.

A very tough American Journeyman who i'm sure would jump at the chance to be in a competition like this at short notice.

War Machine, or Chris Burton will be better!

spud is right and mike is a great guy, who is friendly and modest as they come but think the board should step in and say no due to inactivity,its not worth him getting hurt.
Hes had some great nights and been a british champion, id hate to see someone like audley do him in a round

From what i hear Sky wants him in, as they see it Entertaining with more Knock Out....

Holden in his day was just an average domestic level journeyman - yes he nicked a narrow points nod over a fat depressed Francis to unfeasibly become a British champ, but Francis also beat him twice - and Michael Murray, Harry Senior, Keith Long and Sprotty all beat him fair and square, whilst Skelton absolutely hammered him.

He's just a shot version of a boxer who wasn't much in his day, a decade ago.

I don't think he be allowed by the board, so who are the contenders:

Larry Olubamwio
Derek Chisora is his ban up
Chris Burton beaten finalist
Tom Dallas

Who else do you suggest?

Sadly,I was sat ringside,Mike was all over the place and should have been stopped,what he blurtted out,would have been enough for me to wave it off!

He'd do it. Hearns company has his details. But would they do it? I think maybe they want to keep it for domestic fighters.

After Cliff's no-show in Australia last weekend, I don't think he'd be worth the risk.

I didn't see the fight, but perhaps Holden will be better having shed a bit of rust?

Let's face it, he was a huge underdog anyway, and as people have said, he wasn't that great even in his prime, but he won't be any worse for having gotten six rounds under his belt before the event.

At least this will stop people from predicting he'll beat Audley, for no other reason than the fact he's a human being whose name isn't Audley Harrison.

Thats right - Johnny Eames.. always getting them mixed up.

Is Eames still his coach. He fought in Europe the same night as a Khan vs Kotelnik (it was on Eurosport) and he looked pretty poor, and Eames seem to be implying that he can find a new coach during the fight.
