Greatest British Heavyweight ever.
One of the all time top great heavyweights in the top 20 or even the top 10 or 5.
His legacy was very impressive.
Both as a World Class Amateur capping it off with a Super Heavyweight Olypmic Gold Medal and stopping Riddick Bowe -
As a heavyweight he won British and Commonwealth and European Heavyweight titles.
Before World domination as a Multiple and Undisputed World Heavyweight Champion and avenging his defeats.
But out of all them great achievements in a long stella career what was his greatest performance ?

Should the Tua fight be on that list????
Lewis fought to a plan and it was a defensive masterclass.
I voted for the Ruddock fight by the way

I think for me it was the rematch with rahman, when he landed that right hand the hairs stood up on the back of my neck

I went for Hollyfield (1) in the other guys back yard had the confidence to stick to a game plan and showed himself to be a master of the jab against an oponent who was one of the most skillful heavyweights of all time. Evander wasn't the same after those two fights lewis got better... the Klitschko fight showed grit and ability to win, and was impressive baring in mind he had prepared for kirk johnson.

There are simply too many great results to pick one and when you look at them you realise what a true great he was.I remember michael grant being lined up just as lewis had become undisputed champ,he was massive with a big punch and lewis went straight for him and destroyed him in 2 rounds with multiple knockdowns.I had the pleasure in meeting him in vegas and got some great photos with him,i had just watched holyfield struggle with larry holmes and i said to lennox that he was going to be the next great champ and that's what happened.

Yes your right rahman 1 was poor, but we are choosing his best performance aren't we not his worst.

The Tyson fight should not be on the list becasue there was no way he was going to beat Lewis at that stage of their career's! Tyson was gone by then, nowhere near the fighter he once was. In fact, Mike lasting eight rounds shows how durable a fighter he was!
Lewis' best performance is either his first round annihilation of Golota or his rematch victory over Rahman. If forced to choose between the two I would day the Golots win! He got rid of a guy who was dangerous & got rid of him quick. He imposed himself on Golota quick time!

you missed my point, on the options at the top it says 'rahman 1 or 2' rahman one shouldn't be an option.
I know what your saying
But I just decided that where Lewis has fought the guy more than once - as with the Evander Holyfield option - I would list the both times he fought them.
Of course I dont expect anyone to think that Rahman 1 was one of his best - it was a sloppy complacent perfroamcne and he paid for it......

I agree with you.
But the Tyson fight was such a big event - it is one where alot of people felt Lewis cemented his legacy that night by crushing a legend.
I agrre though - Tyson was a sick man - only in the ring for abig payday to clear debts - peverse really.
However Lewis was still good to be so dominant.

For me the Mercer fight had an impact. While it clearly wasn't his best performance or against one of the elite fighters, it showed me Lewis could fight out of his comfort zone and go into the trenches.
Barely any fighter proved capable of doing that, but this fight showed Lewis could do it if necessary.
I think the reason why he is not in peoples all time top 3 p4p is because we are too used to seeing him coast behind his jab and big right hand, almost humming to Bob Marley tunes, almost making the fights look easy and as if the other fella wasn't trying.
It is theses feats that sealed his greatness for me.

The only top fighter Lewis should have fought was Bowe, but he refused to fight him. He records is much better than Joe!

Out of the list, I would say the Morrison one was his most crushing. I do believe Tommy did leave alot of it in the gym (he was very stale) - but Lewis humilated him, toyed with him, then KO'd him.
I don't think it was a coincidence that Lewis picked it up in the 6th. Tommy was saying stuff about his "round 5 jinx" and if he goes past the 5th he would always provail. So Lewis Ko's him in the 6th. Marvelous that night.
The Golota fight showed the Power naturally, but the Morrison fight showed everything.

He was still good enough to go to Germany and get robbed twice losing SD to Sven Ottke
Can't recall thinking those were bad decisions?
Either way, central point stands: Lennox better than Joe!

They weren't just more assumptions based on it being a SD loss.
Plus a few years after Brewer fought Graham/Ottke he took on Joe... after a very hard fight with Antwun Echols - amongst others.

Rahman 2 all day long, it was a perfect performance, jab worked perfect and what a finish. Lewis's reaction after the fight showed just how much that victory meant to him.
Saying that, my favourite fight was with Shannon Briggs, both throwing and landing haymakers, both got wobbled.

In all the fight that i work with Lennox the one i think was one of his best was the ten round fight with Ray Mercer you had to be there night to know what i am on about, there was something about that win both fighter was up for it.

Good of you to contribute an insider's perspective.
How do you feel about Lennox now? There was a time after your split that you seemed quite bitter. That's understandable, we're all human, I just wonder how you feel with the passage of time. You must feel bloody proud of yourself, regardless of how the partnership ended.

Rahman 2 was my favourite. The US writers made it all the better for me by predicting Rahman to repeat his fluke.
I love the Klitschko fight as well, even though Lewis was well past his best he still managed to get a W against his successor
