Geale-Reuque Oct 21!
Mundine also in action

By Ray Wheatley–World of Boxing

Australia’s Daniel Geale (21-1, 13 KOs) will return to ring action on October 21st when he will clash with Roberto Reuqeu (30-3, 19 KOs) of Argentina over twelve rounds with the IBF Pan Pacific title up for grabs at the Silverstone Complex, Launceston, Tasmania that will be televised on Fox Main Event Television. Geale lost a disputed decision to Anthony Mundine when the general opinion was that Geale had outscored the former WBA super middleweight champion. Geale’s opponent, Roberto Reuque, has been in the ring with several world class middleweights including Renan St Juste in 2009, Sebastain Lujan in 2006 and Walter Mathysse in 2005. He has a very good KO percentage with 19 KOs in 33 fights.

Geale’s manager Bill Treacy said.”Reuque will be a good test for Daniel after his fight with Mundine. We tried to get world rated middleweights Billy Lyell and Daniel Edouard but they declined substantial offers to come to Australia to fight Daniel. We are confident Geale will defeat Reuque but we are not taking him lightly. He has a good record and he has knockout power. Graham Shaw has Geale in great shape and I am sure he will be impressive on October 21″.

On the undercard, Anthony Mundine (36-3, 23 KOs) will also be in action against Alejandro Falliga (17-5, 6 KOs) of Argentina. Falliga lost a close points decision to Rafael Pintos in 2008. Pintos went the distance against Mundine in 2008 dropping a decision over twelve.

Also in action world class junior middleweight Robert Medley (26-2, 17 KOs) and light heavyweight Daniel Baff (11-1) who scored a knockout on the Green vs Dominguez bout in Biloxi, Missisippipi, USA. Promoter Bill Teacy.

He likes to be the man the main event, it is going to be a humbling experience for him

So it should be, he is fighting a nobody

It's still a touchy subject. It's classed co-main event, but we are yet to see which bout will be last.
I had to make a qualified decision (which took all of 1 second) who to put at the top in the schedule

BTW, it's SILVERDOME

Oh i thought mundine was fighting on the undercard

Geales fight should be the main event, it is by far the better fight, we know what is going to happen in mundines fight, the guy he is fighting has only 6 ko's and has lost 5 times

To be honest mundines fight isn't even worth watching

I hope someone knocks mundine on his butt, he acts like he has a huge ego, in the past i have tried to be a fan of his and defended him in debates with the brits at dhb who say he is garbage as a boxer and froch would kill him, but he talks too much garbage and fights too much garbage, every big name world champion fighter in australia is fighting good opponents except him, look who green and katsidis and darchinyan and chris john picks and look who he picks.

fight news has mundine ranked 16 at MW. its his own fault. he could be ranked higher if he fought real opposition. mundine actually makes such an asss of himself by announcing he is the greatest athlete and will become a legend etc and then announcing that his next opponent is a cabbie in some argentinian village that no one has ever heard of.

if kessler fought mundine again in 2009 (at mw or smw). kessler would stop him. froch would ko him in 2.

He keeps saying he is only going to fight the best after he fights this and that guy and then he ends up fighting nobody again

god i wish someone, anyone would knock this bum out...he is the most arrogant, egotistical and un-humble athlete in the world. he is about the worst ambassador for the sport u could ever muster up in your imagination. i dont think he'll ever ko someone at mw...even shannan taylor said his children punch harder than mundine.

fcuk it im gonna go to redfern gym and knock him out myself. (does he read boxrec)?

Both fights are 12 rounders. Do not be surprised if they change the order.

By the way, I hope people talking about going to a gym with the intention of beating up on a fighter are joking. No trainer will let someone spar with a main event fighter without seeing him train or having seen the would be sparring partner fight. Fighters usually spar with fighters from the same gym or a fighter brought in because of his similarity to the upcoming opponent. There is also legal liability.

mundine has to start fighting champions not chumps. the public have to stop paying for these overpriced-low quality mundine ppv's, maybe if we don't pay, he'll get the picture and have to fight someone decent for the big bucks. because we know what mundine really cares about: the money
