It's hard to think that 38 years after Harry Gibbs robbed Henry Cooper of his heavyweight title we are still only using judges in 12 round title fights, last nights match between Mc Dermott & Fury brought back to the forefront the fact that we still place all the burden on the ref he has to control the fight plus make the decision when only viewing the fight from one angle like us watching most of the time missing whats going on on the blind side.
It's time we fell in with the rest of the boxing world & have 3 judges for all pro fights it's not the complete answer but better than what we have now.
The payment of these officials must be the responsibility of the board not promoters taking away the danger of them becoming The promoters hired help if you get my drift, I know where there's money there will always be corruption but without change we will lose the fringe fans first then when enough of us true boxing fans get pissed off we will follow them that's not something I wish to see

Richie Woodhall to his credit said this after "I was terrible....Glenn deserved it, I didn't. He was better than me on the night. My jab was miles away, and it was an awful performance."

I remember Colin Dunne clearly losing a fight against a south african fighter called Martin Jacobs at the Goresbrook Leisure Centre - yet the judges gave the fight to Dunne on an SD - there was no way that fight was even close.

benn-malinga 1 was absolutely outrageous
also even though the right man won the judges who scored for the brit in harrison-medina 1 and witter v bradley should have been suspended indefinetly

Lost by how wide in your opinion, not trying to be smart just interested because if you only had it by a round or two then i wouldn't exactly call it a robbery because alot of rounds were close. I wasn't there myself but watched it many times and always thought Bugner nicked it although had it gone to Cooper i would not have cried foul
