with all those channels on sky surely a show like probox can be put on somewhere??? , how many future champions appeared on that show???
best thing about probox is that it showed boxing at all levels and in some of the smaller shows it televised every fight on the card
they were the days

screensport RIP
They 'merged' with Eurosport.
Producing and hosting live boxing programming on a regular basis is too expensive for a channel with their non premium business model. I'm still optomistic ESPN will chip in, but they are taking their time.

Nothin positive has come from ESPN boxing-wise since they launched. They may get involved on the odd PPV but as for a Setanta style deal, I don't think it's going to happen.

I remember watching Nigel Benn in America v sanderling Williams on screensport in around 1990.. Along with the beginnings of some great prospects at that time.. A raw and young James Toney, and men like Tyrone Trice and Kevin Pompey... In opened up European eyes to the universal boxing scene.. If a free channel like this was aired again bringing small hall events from the US and not those drawn out dull shows from Germany we seem to get fed constantly nowadays.. Sauerland is making this era Dull.. There are too many mediocre fighters on those shown and not many make it memorably..

Al Bernstein used to mention Trice v Pompey as one of his favourite fights. Bernstein and Barry Tompkins made a good team on the US shows.
Whatever happened to Dave Brenner from the Probox shows?

They were all Matchroom shows so they were an early forerunner of Sky's coverage now
