Carl Dilks - British Masters Light Heavyweight Champion

Just back from the VIP show up in Wigan.
Another cracking small hall bill - topped off by Carl Dliks picking up the British Masters Light Heavyweight Title. Carl won over 10x3's against Billy Boyle. Great main event fight.
Other results as follows;
Nick Quigley - Won on PTS over 4X3's against Karl Allen.
Jon Kays - Won on PTS against a super durable Anthony Hanna. Jon looked very impressive again tonight.
Steven Jennings - Win by first round KO against Henry Janes. Jenko looked incredibly sharp tonight; one to watch for the future without a doubt.
Jack Arnfield - PTS Win over Lee Noble. Cracker of a fight that was no stop action from first to last bell. Jack very impressive (as was Noble to be honest)

Have to agree there, was a cracking show, some decent undercard fights.
As for the dilks/Boyle fight, then I have to say Carl looked good tonight and got his tactics right.
He managed to avoid Billy's overhand right for most of the night, and was really strong down the last stretch

Did it go the full 10 then? If so keep him a million miles away from Bellew. Didn't Cleverly do Boyle in a couple of rounds?

Went the full 10, and Cleverly did Boyle in 2 rounds.
Carl as already said he is going back to Super middle

If you were championship material(British and above) you would of got rid of Boyle and by the mid rounds, you didn't so stay away from Bellew as you would be embarrased.

to help u answer that question mate, a cert NO.
he may come on here and say things but i assure you in real life theres no way he would take the fight. he could of had it already but has no intention of fighting him.
now im not trying to sound negative but, dilks wouldnt go 2 rounds and he knows it, thats why when people mention a fight between him and bellew, he makes the excuses like, im really a super middle weight. but when asked to fight in prize fighter, he jumps at the chance. then fight against boyle he sais i took it coz it was a good opportunity.
well surly fighting an unbeaten prospect in front of your home city on one of the best nights of boxing in liverpools history, that would count as a good opportunity???????????
why not prove me wrong and take a fight with bellew.

Dilks is a super middle he has boxed at 12-4 on the day. Bellow has weighed 12-8 the day before
so in reality is a cruiser. Givern this it would be a miss match on weight alone. Dilks stick to smiddle and let bellow fight someone his own size in a proper fight, then we might see what bellow is made of.

Dilks is still relatively inexperienced and has time on his hands.
As much as i'd love to see this fight, i think it's all wrong for Dilks, as has been said.
I'm a Scouser first, and i want to see our fighters progress, this could set Carl back. Let Carl work his way up a bit and then maybe get this on in the future.
Would be a local crowd puller..!

Let's get something straight, I know you and you know me!! You said the words on 105.9 "It's between me and Courtney Fry who are the best light heavyweights in Liverpool" you said that just before prizefighter, I let it go over me head as I thought you was just excited about being in the event... Then you say the exact same thing to a mutual friend we both have, He put you straight when you said it too so you know who I mean.
Im a light heavy and you've just won that title at light heavy!! I'd come in at 12st 7 to make the fight happen and onlt 2 fights back you was over the light heavy limit!! Who said your scared of me? I ain't stated that although I do have my reasons to believe that now you've said that? Don't give me Im talking $h1t!! Your the one sounding your horn off with your stupid comments!I've never called anyone out as it ain't my style but when you make comments like you have you should be willing to back them up!! you won't see me in the 13th. You should take the fight and see me on the 30th October at are beautiful arena..

The undercard was a decent show
The Jack Arnfield - Lee Noble fight was a decent one, with Noble pushing Arnfield hard .
The Stephen Jennings fight was good but short and both John Kays and Nick quigleys fights were entertaining

Why fight for a title at light heavy then not face a fellow prospect at light heavy.
Sounds like Dilks wants no prt of the Bomber.
Dilks. i don't blame you.

i seen an interview in the liverpool echo and i believe it was in the daily telegraph as well, about bellew asking for a fight with carl dilks. carl dilks came on a liverpool radio station and said him and courtney fry where the best light heavys in liverppol. bellew has been angry since hearing this interview and is gunning for a showdown with dilks calling him out at any chance he gets.
this would make a great local fight and what better event than the show at the echo arena.
dilks if your reading, are u scared or something??????????
and i heard u come out and say your not really a light heavy, who u kidding you have had allot more fights in the light heavy weight division than the super middle division, and your last 3 where at l.h. so why not take the fight coz u said the last few fights u have took them at light heavy coz it was a good opportunity, well surly this is a great opportunity in your back yard.
come on dilks take the fight, there is nothing stopping u at all now. (if got a £100 that sais u dont go 4 rounds)

If Dilks can make super middleweight healthily then that's where he should be.

he obviously doesnt like making s.m coz hes only had less than a hand full off fights at s.m, and all the others at l.h, plus for a few fights hes been well over the l.h limit.
if he scared to fight bomber he shouldnt say daft things on radio, and should just come out and admit hes terrified!
come on dilks take the fight prove u can back what u say up
