A great win today for Katsidis, i hear 1 of the judges was way of the mark awarding Escobedo the nod i also here his defence has improved greatly. So moving forward, who's next?

Great win by Katsidis, He is a our best Aussie born fighter by a long shot IMO. At least he is prepared to step up and take on the best in his division.

Green debatably, well that weight drained one who fought beyer and mundines isn't, least green has head movement

I cant agree with you,

You have one guy who is willing to fight the best in his division , And the other 2 arn't. Mundine may be better skilled but that dosnt make him a better fighter. Green and Katsidis skill wise are even.

Katsidis shouldnt be scutinised for testing himself against the best fighters, As at least he is willing to step in with these guys.
Who have Mundine or Green fought that could compare with Casamayor, A multi time champion and Olympic Gold Medalist? Also before the brain snap in the 10th Katsidis was winning the fight.

Wait and see how Greens face looks after the RJJ fight, Then we can compare, Becuase until now he hasnt fought anyone remotley close to the level of Diaz and Casamayor. Also Katsidis eyebrows are very prone to cutting, If you look at his facial features.

Green only had a little swell around his eye after his fight with mundine, you couldn't notice it that much.

katsidis is a Gatti type fighter.Look what Gatti looked like after many of his fights. I hhave great respect for Katsidis for stepping up and taking the BIG leap and fightinng mutliple times under the big boxing spotlight in the states. How many other Aussie fighters have done this.Last i can think of was Troy waters.
I cannnot help but think some of your attitude towards Katsidis is racially based goinng on some of your other posts Eric-if you are a racist then you are a racist.It does make it difficult to take your opinions on an objective basis.
As hhas beeen well documented in previous posts hhere with regards to Katsidis his defence is limited. but he does have power,a reasonable chin,great heart and an attitude that is very positive ie he is not content to fight crap opponents repeatedly just to get a big payday while at the same time selling out the aussiee boxing fans like for example Mundine.
anyway i like the bloke annd last i looked he was fighting under the aussie flag and considers himself Australian.If he chooses to pay homage to part of his ancestry by wearing the helmet then that is fine by me.
Do i thinnk hee is Ali...NO,but he is a gutsy and respectful fighter who does not rip the fans off and i wish him well and hope all his skills improve-as discusseed heere previously a change in trainers would help significantly. But...each to their own.i would pay to watch him fight.

Eric T - I like mundine but id you look at Rocky's last 6 opponents compared to mundine i think it shows who is the better fighter. Mundine is a glorified sparrer at present.

Katsidis was born in Toowoomba QLD, not in Greece........it's a marketing strategy to lift his profile allowing promoters an easier job to put bums on seats, he fights like a gladiator so if the shoe fits..dress like 1, why do people feel as though this denounces his allegiance to Australia?

I think Katsidis whoops Casamayor in the rematch, but will Casamayor give him the rematch?

I just came here to say congratulations to Katsidis. He puts his all into every fight, and it's nice to see him getting a reward for that. Very good win for him last night, and he's definitely top 10 material at lightweight. It's very good that HBO like him; he'll get good money with them.

He fought really well what an engine he has on him Escoboda couldnt deal with his relentless aggression and looked knackered in the 2nd half of the fight. Very good win for Katsidis though

Katsidis is training in Thailand my god he must be doing some hard stuff there I know how hard he was training in Toowoomba and no one could keep up with him here.Good on you Katsidis keep it up.

may i just quickly correct one thing inn my post.Mentioned waters being the onnly fighter to have a go under the big lights in the states on more than one occasion prior to Kat.Forgot Peden. Apologies.A similar fighhter to Kat i would say except less consistent energy.Ffrom all reports Kat was as relentless as Fenech.Good to hear.
