Has ricky ever said he's now retired, or otherwise? Will he have one more "homecoming" fight in Manchester? He'd sell out Manchester (UK even) arenas fighting a wet lettuice...

He recently said he can see himself giving it another go. I'd prefer him not to but never thought he would retire on the back of the Pacquiao hammering.

I'll gladly fight him and after getting KO'd I'll spend my millions from the fight by emigrating to a pacific island and spend the rest of my life sitting under a palm tree drinking cocktails served by exotic girls called Miu Miu.

He'll fight again just after his Hatton Promotions contract with Sky is due to run out.

I reckon a fight with Khan beckons - it would be a massive fight in the UK - tough to say no to all that cash................

Ricky Hatton has further fuelled the fire of speculation by admitting it is likely he will return to fighting, but not until he feels “that fire in the belly” again.

Of course he'll fight again. He is greedy and knows he can make loads of dosh fighting a bum again in Manchester, he's just waiting for Amir Khan to not be the main man to face as it's high risk for him.

I still think a shot Hatton stops Khan early.

I'll love to see Hatton have potentially 2 fights - taking it one fight at a time.
Would like to see him against a very beatable "old" name, someone who has no chance of winning but will provide an opportunity to see if he has still got it... maybe like Alfonso Gomez.
If he has.... then Khan.
Then see how he feels. I'd hate to see him end it like he has. His performance against Floyd doesn't look so bad now.

the hattons are driven by cash, so the fight is a certainty.

For the money this would generate he would be stupid not to fight Khan , if he don't leave it to late i can see him doing a real number on Khan , when all said and done Khan ain't no Mayweather or Manny

He will fight again - just one more time.
I just can't see it being Khan however because there's no way Ricky will ever have any dealings with Wazza again - so how could there ever be an agreement Promotionally ?
He's out of condition right now, he was blowing heavily after a short stint on the bags last week, and obviously he's some weight to shift.
What was clear however, is that Ricky hasn't lost any of his thirst for the fight game.

I also think that the Mayweather result and performance will have given him a bit of a boost as well.

His performance against mallinaggi was widely regarded as his best since Tszyu.

And his performance against Manny was widely regarded as his worst ever.
If Ricky does come back for one or two more fights, and I think he will, then he needs to get himself a proper world class trainer. He hasn't been training to the level he's been fighting at for four years now. He needs to train smart not hard.

I agree DCIC. The question is who? The man of the moment trains the fighter Hatton will surely be looking to fight.

Why four years? Also, wasnt mayweather borught in to train ricky smart, and not hard?
Who out there can change a 40-something fight pro, who's fought the same way for night on 20 years?
Agree his performance against Manny was "his worst" - basically pick that one or mayweather, hwoever, how much of it was down to Manny being just that damned good.

The more I see the Ricky vs Manny fight, the more I want to see Ricky return. Manny showed in the first round he had the strength to hurt him, but that shot in the 2nd - the one which layed him unconscious - was a one in a million type shot. The frustrating thing was that Ricky had definately hurt Manny.
The comparisons with Hearns vs Duran were made, but it was a very different fight.
