Yes, it was Scott Evans. It was top of the bill, 8 x 2's and looked like a great match up. Evans was intoduced as British Masters welterweight champion, 8 wins from 9 contests with 2 KO's. He looked like he was really up for it.

McLevy's power was devastating from the off, switching from the body to the head, I'm not even sure if it was a head or body shot that put Evans down. He tried to get up at around 8 but just couldn't and the ref reached 10. Time was 1:42 round 1.

Undefeated, McLevy goes to 4-0, 2 by KO. As Noelsey said, there could be big things ahead for this very talented boxer.

Saw Scott Evans, from Stourbridge, quite a bit, he stepped in at late notice in February to win the Briitsh Masters and sort of arrived, since then though he's been matched hard (and away from home) and been stopped twice (the above and to Dave Ryan for the Midlands title) maybe took him on a step too far still only young.

Scott's a nice lad SK, like you say, he's been matched hard recently. and the first time i saw him, he was only about 19 i think, he couldn't be much older than 21 still.....?

question for midlands boxing fans:

does it seem like PJ Rowson does this with a lot of his fighters?

they get matched at home and relatively easily until they get to midland/masters level, then they get all kinds of gigs, and don't seem to get the easy gigs at home any more. this has kindof happened with Martin Gethin (boxed on other promoter's shows, not sure if PJ even promotes him now) Harrison, ummmm rob whatsisname who beat Max Maxwell for the mdis 154 title.....

Rob Kenney mate and yeah I agree, seems its mostly the lads who don't sell shedloads of tickets, which I suppose makes business sense. Still I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more Frank Whatisname style promoting with some of the lads, bringing them on slowly....Mind you I always moan about that so maybe find somehwere inbetween, perhaps this shows though that you have to bring certain fighters on slowly. It does sometimes seem like some of them are left out to dry.

Scott Evans perhaps that Masters came to soon, he hadn't fought past 4 rounder I don't think. Hope he can maybe go back to the drawing board and build back up, like you say think he's only 21 or 22.

cheers for that mate, my apologies to Rob kenney i always forget his name

i agree basically there doesn't seem to be much middle ground

dean harrison basically fought the usual suspects, had 2 'middle ground' type fights (African Banger followed by Gary Reid) then Haywood (lost close one for the English) and mCcloskey (somehow got a shot for, and got mullered for, the British)
