They used to have top world champions like Chong pal Park, Jum Hwan Choi, Myung Wo yuh, Ji won Kim, and In jin Chi as the Last Action Hero. Where are the new champions from Korea? What happen with the Korean boxers?

No real idea. Nations with small populations and where boxing is not a major sport, seem to produce a spate of titleholders within a generation or so, then it somewhat dies. Our own local boxing scene here Oz boxing is the same

p.s. how about Hwan Kil Yuh from the 80's?

Just my raw opinion, the wealthier a country, the less boxers they can produce.
South Korea is a fast economy growing country.

I was wondering about this interesting topic myself because I initially noticed South Korea hasen't been producing any world class fighters lately. Then, I began checking divisional rankings, and it appears they've really dropped off the radar. Has there been a big decline in the popularity of boxing in South Korea in the 21st century ?
