Just from my local paper- Michael Jennings has started up his own business, called Jennings security, which will be doing the stewarding for some of the Ricky Hatton promoted events. He also says in the interview that he wants to become a millionaire by next year!
Its always nice to see boxers getting coverage in the local press- in this case the Lancashire (Preston really) Evening Post.

*Cue frantic pm's from Spud asking for The Lurcher's phone number, as he looks to secure his way back into 'the fight game'...

Too many of these security firms just employ jacket fillers for these stewarding jobs. I doubt that Jennings crew, esp with the likes of Gomez there would have bottled it when Fury's family were causing bother.

Crikey. That would have been like World War III.

Have you seen the size of Fury's brothers and cousins?
They've always been very polite at all the Hennessy shows when i have chatted with them.
But there ain't one under 6'3 and the last bunch of people i'd like to escort out !

This raises a valid question- if troublemakers are too much for any security (and this is not a reference to any specific group or firm) what CAN be done?

You can hire a security firm that won't have any trouble off of anyone.
There a such firms about. No matter what your name is and how big you are, you will be leaving if told too.
I suspect Jennings Security could be one such firm!

The only thing you can do then is call the old bill, but it don't exactly make you look good!

i do security on a number of boxing shows and like coco rightly says the only thing you can do is call the police who wont be particulary happy about being rang everytime you kick a punter out.you do need a strong team of lads, especially on boxing shows where theres likely to be a few head the balls supporting a number of boxers.the likes of gomezand other ex pro's would difuse a situation because most of the lads that go to the shows know them and respect there achievements in the ring and probably wouldn't want a crack of them either

but where are the "respected" guys going to be stewarding?at the M.E.N,there was dominic negus and co patrolling the ringside area, and the in-house stewards trying to control the vast arena.it should have been the other way round!the hooligan minority are usually in the cheaper sections.it needs to be sorted out, because its putting a lot of people off the large shows

Is Jennings going to be safe in the Office filing out the wage slips and tax dedeuctions - admin work, etc.
Because he is only a little guy.
If there was any trouble with some big burly group of rowdy men - what use is a little guy like that gonna be.
I dont give a shite if he is a pro boxer - you need big muscle men on doors - who got the brawn to man handle people and defuse situations.
A little guy like Jennings just aint cut out for the muscle for that kind of work.

He RUNS the company, I don't think it's a one man opperation. Does Richard Branson drive his own trains?
