fury got the win, but only on points over 6 rounds against a fella who has been stopped 10 times but who dropped michael holden last time out.

anyone got any more info?

personally i thought fury would have won by stoppage, maybe he was still tired after the macdermott 10 rounder.

Fury clearly won ever round as the opponent was throwing nothing and in survival mode, however he he was hitting him with alot of heavy shots and was unable to hurt him until he scored a kd in the dying seconds of the last round (and it looked like a potential slip). He was far from impressive, and said he injured his right hand in the second.

Score was 60-57 so he still would have won, but it was a shockingly close scorecard. Fury dominated ever round (as his opponent forgot how to throw punches), its beyond me how even one round could have been scored even. I guess the referee was trying balance out O'Connor's pro Fury performance.

This was supposed to be Fury's Irish showcase, but the only thing on display was his lack of power, which this fight made very evident.

Take away 10 from Fury's score = 50
Take away 8 from the other guy's = 49

Now make that round 10-9 to the other guy = 59-59

Yes your right, that was some horrific judging in my opinion. Maybe I was off in how I judged the fight, but I thought it looked like a clear 60-53 win for Fury.

I wasn't paying too much attention, but I agree, it looked like a shut out victory for Fury.

I had it scored 60-53 aswell. I think between the announcer and the ref they messed it up somehow, no way was it that close!

Comfortable win against an opponent who kept a high guard through-out.

Fury doesn't seem to possess great power and it seems these giant's don't - see Valuev.

Fury is young and it was a good workout for him.

I watched the whole fight live, he hardly sucked. He hurt his hand in the second round but won every minute of every round, I thought he looked good in patches. Okay, he should have got rid of the opponent, but its not like he struggled to victory.

said it before and will say it again...Fury needs to stop fighting ever week & spend some time in the gym with a decent trainer

Tyson Fury was taken six rounds by a journeyman. Tomas Mrazek 4-24-5 should have been an easy fight for Fury but the scoring 60-57 suggests it wasnt. I havent seen the fight and those who have say Fury did better than the scoring reflects but even so he doesnt seem to be the HW sensation people were saying he was prior to the McDermott fight. He claims to have injured his hand in the 2nd round, and if true, its understandable he wasnt able to perform better against the Czech. Fury has now had 9 fights in less than a year and while its good to keep busy, is that too many times out? Perhaps not his earlier fights were ended very quickly and were not much more than a workout for him. He is very young, especially for a HW so he has plenty of time on his side. I would like to see him learn his trade getting some good sparring abroad and not be in a rush to grab titles. For a huge man he doesnt seem to have a concussive punch and his stamina is still questionable also. On the plus side he does have a bit of talent and a good chin so he does have a bit of potential. Its still too early to say how far he can go but at the moment he certainly doesnt look like a World champion in the making. In fact I wouldnt bet on him getting the British title in the near future either.

Is Rob McCraken training Fury now? He was in the corner last night.

McCracken was indeed in the corner last night, not sure what that was about though, maybe just the Hennessy link. Fury had the big fanfare yet the fight was below par. He was going through the motions a bit but still won every round. Not sure where Emile Tiedt scored 60-57 from.

Fury should take up Haye's offer of sparring because he would learn more from that than the bouts he is currently having!

- Ho-Ho, keeping some very rarified company indeed with a certain Iron Mike who also suffered the fools who dared criticize his shutout wins over fighters he couldn't KO. That they showed up to survive, not fight seems to scarcely register.

Two weeks after his 10 round title fight and making his Irish debut in spite of coming out of two days in the maternity ward assisting his wife in delivering their first child, he could've easily canceled. The big lad hasn't even stopped growing, yet far more advanced at age 21 than any of the soft lads on this forum were at that age at meeting his commitments.
