Gotta love 'The Cobra'

Reasons to love Carl Froch (from this month's BM):

On Joe Calzaghe: "I've actually got a lot of respect for."

On Lucian Bute: "He needs to grow himself a set of bollocks."

On Mikkel Kessler: "I've big respect for Kessler."

On Andre Dirrell: "Expect Dirrell to turn it in after I've smashed him. I don't like him...because he's a leery motherf#*ker....He's gonna get mashed."

Successfully treading the fine line between being an arrogant ar$e and a confident, funny interviewee IMO. It took me a while to warm to him but interviews such as these, and, vitally, backing it up in the ring has made me a big fan.

I have to confess I've still to be convinced by his assertion as to his "slick defensive skills" but what the hell, go get 'em Carl!

He'll TKO Dirrell late.

Froch is ace. What would we do without him? Back to back fight of the year candidates, and an absolute warrior. He gets Autobarn's full approval, 100%. He doesn't do things the Frank Waaaaaarren way: good man.

There is so much nonsene in boxing, but Froch just gets on with it.

He'll do for me.

I was at the Taylor fight and got hold of a copy of the official scorecard as a souvenir (the commision were giving copies to the press, of which I pretended to be part). Courtesy of Gomez, Froch signed the scorecard for me and sent it back last week. Top man.

Back on topic, he is a brilliant interview and I agree he keeps it just the right side of confidence rather than arrogance. Very funny and usually fair observations.

HAAAHAHA!

Love it. Froch is making boxing interesting at the moment, inside and outside the ring.

I think he's in for a tough one with Dirrell but I really hope he does a number on him.

His written interviews are great, he just lacks that spark when he is interviewed in person. However, he more than makes up for it in the ring.

Depends on who interviews him and when they catch him.

He's not arsed how he comes across and sometimes that makes for good or bad interviews.

My fave Froch moment (outside the ring):

"I'm world class.

Tony's (Dodson) not."

It was just really funny the way he said it.

K-G, I've missed you.

I'd love to hear your view of Calzaghe's Rhumba in the Jubbly's on BBC1 at the weekend.

On another note, does his ex Jo-Emma "model" socks or fingerless gloves or something, because she always looks like she's either just flown a Tiger Moth into a stif breeze or had Hannibal Lecter tighten her pony-tail with a tent peg.

I think he did himself alot of bad by constantly mentioning calzaghe everytime he spoke .. he was on par with Witter wittering on about hatton all the time :witzend:

But the more I see him doing ringside interviews - the more he grows on me.
He really does speak whats on his mind, something you just got to respect.
His boxing skills aren`t up to much - but he is a true warrior for certain.

Alas this generation of TV dancers has passed me by as i sit in hotel bars in Asia laughing at the thought of Adam Smith urinating in Ian Darke's mouth..

My experience of come dancing is Rosemarie Ford pouting into the camera and telling a 13 year old Khaosai-Galaxy that the feelings he was having for her were perfectly natural...

Those were happier times.

I'm 50/50 on Froch, love watching him fight but don't really like him. I think maybe I enjoy his fights as I probably want to see him lose, he just urks me.

I was a big Calzaghe fan and this probably helps towards this after all the bad mouthing etc., but there's more than that. I just don't like him out of the ring, find him boring, predictable and over cocky. Plus he seems to be getting waaay too much credit at the moment. If he comes 1st/2nd in the Super 6 I think I will start to rate him as highly as most of you do.

Are you talking about Joe or Carl?
He MUST be talking about Calzaghe.

I was talking about Froch, but the same applies to Calzaghe, both very boring and predictable in interviews, like footballers after a good game, "yeah it was nice to score a goal but the team is the most important" I just want someone to say one, day "did you see the goal I scored, awesome, well happy".

I find both Froch and Calzaghe very repetitive

Both are as charismatic as the sack of spuds in my kitchen, I know blokes down the pub who can talk the same shite as Joe and Carl.

On Lucian Bute: "He needs to grow himself a set of bollocks."
This made me laugh! You can just picture Froch saying that to whoever conducted the interivew & meaning it aswell!

To be fair to Froch, why is Bute not in the tournament? The tourney is the place to be. The winner will be massively established, so it would have been a big chance for Bute against the best!
