In this fight I can see Charles making Quarry just that half a beat
slower in the exchanges and movement. I think Quarry gives a good
showing and lands well, but come the fights end, he slows up too much
in the later rounds and drops the decision to the more consistent and
better schoold Charles.

Can't really see Quarry doing anything which keeps him from coming up short against the class of Charles.

Can't pick a winner here. Can anyone give a good forensic analysis on this one? Too close to call the way I'm thinkin'.

this is a good match. i think charles would win by a clear decision of maybe stopping him on cuts. ezzard tended to fight up to his opposition and quarry would bring out the best in ezz. charles was sometimes a slow starter and around round three or four his corner would be screaming at him to open up, and he would.

- A fair assessment, however, Quarry was also a good counterpuncher with showstopping KO power. Some would dismiss Quarry out of hand based on legend points, but he presents a clear and present danger all through as long as the fight lasts.
As we saw reinforced this weekend for the umpteenth time, the much superior fighter can be concussively upset as in Salgado's dramatic 1st rd KO of Linares, or the superior fighter can be left dangling on the ropes at the end of a fight by a shot clubfighter as Mtagwa had Lopez hanging by.
