Apparently wilson trained for this fight and it showed, he landed some beautiful shots.

Hopoates power was evident early, hopoate dropped him at the start of the 3rd and then wilson dropped him near the end of the round then in the next round wilson went down but it was ruled a slip then wilson caught him again and hopoate went down.

I said wilson can't punch, someone get the crowe out :DD

Go back through Hopoate's record and look at his "surprise" losses. You would never bet on him.

Question is this. In a ten round fight with three minute rounds between an Australian Champion and another Australian the champion was knocked out. Does the title change hands? If not, why not?

Funnily enough, I won £20 betting on Hopoate to beat Mirovic. 8)

Yep! But only 'cos he stopped him. Had he outpointed him, the title would've been declared vacant.

I remember that rule, I did not know if it still stood. Two minute rounds were introduced to club fights in the '60s after an Australian champion lost his title for peanuts in a prelim fight because both fighters made the weight limit.

Had the fight been over 2 minute rounds the title would've been safe.

Same would've happened if Tauasa stopped Ammann. Had he outpointed him, the title would've been safe 'cos it was over 8 rounds.

Tua needs to fight 3 times in quick succession to rid himself of this horrible Maori TV deal he has. Colin Wilson would be the perfect opponent first up.

From a promoters point of view mate its gold. Wilson Ko'd Hoppa on the same show Tua destroyed Cameron. The general public would at least be interested, and Tua needs 3 quick wins Wilson would be blasted out in similar style to Cameron so it ticks all the boxes for Tua and a small promotion in NZ

For a promoter it may be gold, but David Tua is a far different proposition to "Stinkfist." I would worry about Wilson's safety.

hoppa all but had wilson ko'd in the 1st or 2nd round. tua would ko him within 30 seconds. don't think wilson would be silly enough to fight tua anyway.

NZ could claim that to be the fight of the century, as it has little to beat atm.

Hey im not saying it would be a great fight, just that it kinda makes sense in the current situation. General public think Wilson is a legend now for Stopping Hoppa. And he said hed do it told me at the after party, said hes stupid enough to fight anyone!

It makes sense in a sick kind of way, Tua by decapitation if it ever happens.
Can we have Hoppa vs. Cameron on the undercard?

Subject to Australian National Boxing Federation's rule 75 (4)
The opponent must sign an ANBF auxiliary contract before he is officially recognized as the champion.

"Same would've happened if Tauasa stopped Ammann. Had he outpointed him, the title would've been safe 'cos it was over 8 rounds"

Now that I've got the weights, this was never the case as Tauasa was well over Cruiserweight limit
