William Hill are offering odds on a Ricky Hatton vs Amir Khan fight scheduled for New Years Eve.... I might be working in the middle east in the middle of the caspian sea but have I missed something here???

It's a "maybe" bet- the bet only stands if the fight happens to be booked and goes ahead before a given cut-off date. If the fight doesn't happen, you get your money back.

a bit of publicity, really, rather than serious better. The bookies love it- because in many ways it's like the people who take the bet are making them an interest free loan!

the bet is for the fight potentially taking place before that date, not ON it.

From the website " This bout must take place before the end of 2009, stakes refunded if fight does not take place before the end of 2009."
