Bika is a free agent, will this help him get a good fight?

Bika is finally a free agent ending a 5 year contract early that would have seen him with TOC until 2012.
Will this increase Bika's chance's of getting fights?
It does seem if your with Goldenboy you don't run out of good opponents and this is something Bika has struggled with in the last couple of years.

Bika isnt a great fighter to watch and I dont think he's a big ticket seller. He needs to get with a good promoter in America because he's not done a lot recently and is a real forgotten man of the Super middle division.

There isnt much chance of him getting a title shot soon as the Super 6 plus Andrade vs Bute. If I was Bika I would try and get Mundine or Balzsay to get his name out there again and if he wins maybe he'll get a crack at Bute-Andrade winner

I don't think the best 6 supers are representing in the tournament so theres a chance he will get a couple of good fights, Balzay is 1 and the winner of Bute and Andrade is another, you can also throw Al green in there as well.
Lots of good fighters still not locked in, he just as someone said has to not out price himself.

It depends who he's fighting, and the atmosphere.
vs Codrington in The Contender final - Brilliant.
vs Calzaghe - Not very good. He was outclassed and fought dirty.

Don't forget Robert Stieglitz who beat Balzsay for the WBO strap recently.

ye that was a good fight but was it 12 rounds? It was made for TV in my opinion, the programme was designed to make Boxing exciting to watch and I cant think of many good fights Bika's been in.
He wasnt great v Calzaghe and although he stopped Manfredo he wasnt too great in that fight either.

Can't do much better than KOing the other bloke.
Going the distance against an unbeaten, undisputed champion isn't too shabby either.

Nope, but everyone lose's, doesn't mean he's finished or should be forgotten, given Bika's inactivity it would be ideal.

Indeed :!: Good win for Steiglitz and a possible good matchup.

A fight doesn't have to go for 12 rounds for it to be a good scrap does it? If that's your gauge on calling a good fight i feel for you!
You think the fight was engineered

Mate
WAKE UP FFS...your reaching here.
Who look's good against Slappy....In fact, Slappy even looks terrible when Slappy fights.....And lets call a spade a spade here, Slappy only fought Bika because Bika was rather inexperienced,he ended up with a very tough fight.
Exciting and Slappy (Calzaghe) don't go together so why use it as reference?

I didnt say a fight needs to go 12 rounds look at Hearns v Hagler and over here we've had Gomez v Arthur and so on.
You need to chill out mate.
Bika v Codrington was a good fight and why the Calzaghe bashing? I'm Welsh and not a massive fan of his because had good matchups but still he was unbeaten and if you call him Slappy and Bika got beat him what do you call him? Crappy?
Name me exciting fights Bika's been in? He wouldnt sell tickets anywhere outside Australia.

Mate....... i don't need to chill out, you need to not be so sensitive, and yes you did suggest that the Bika/Codrington fight was good but failed to reach it's peaks because it didn't go 12???????
Can i return the question, why the bashing on Bika? and why, if your not a fan of slappy does it matter.....I have to admit you Brits are secretly proud of Slappy....but I think most are ashamed to admit it, none of you guys want to admit that deep down you think he's the greatest.....he's no where near it as recognized by most around the world....
Mate I'm not here to list exciting fights for you, you talk as if you know it all, I suggested a fight and posted the fight and you stated you thought it was a production fight, more Hollywood theatrics than a blood and guts fight.......I can't help you if this is your analysis of what most around the world thought was fight of the year, as i stated in a previous post, if it doesn't get your heart going maybe you should check your pulse.
Your naive to think he's not known in the US....Couldn't sell tickets.... please explain as I'm sure if i reply to this you would only suggest that i take a Valium and you didn't say Bika couldn't sell tickets.

you're not here to list exciting fights or you cant do that? I'm not sure.
The only thing I can say is that I didnt hear anyone mention that as a fight of the year and we'll just see how things work with Bika, if he's on HBO or Showtime then he's done well but we'll wait and see.

Good match ups...... is this your first time out of the British forum? he fought Green fighters and over the hill greats, Please list all these great match ups, and I want you to list fights beside's Kessler which i believe was his only great victory, BHOP and Jones last performance's were special but make no mistake here that they are well past there best, and this isn't opinion it's common knowllege.
And don't come back with who's Bika fought....remember Calzaghe is 37 and Bika is 30 give the bloke a chance to afford the opportunity to get a few big fights under his belt.
So list away, I'm interested!
