Great article; thanks for posting. Indian Red was a terrific fighter. The glory days of Leonard-Hearns-Duran-Benitez have made some people forget that the welterweight division was also loaded with talent in the 1970s;

Jose Napoles, Indian Red Lopez, Hedgemon Lewis, Clyde Gray, Mando Muniz. Some tough guys with a ton of ability.

- Guy was 2 of 3 against Hedgemon Lewis, dropped 2 to Napoles and 1 to Griffith all in LA, yet I've never seen one of his fights come up on the tube. What's up with that?

The 15 rder against Napoles and the first Lewis bout when Lewis was undefeated seemed to be the period when he was best. Hopefully the Great A will hear the cry and come up with some gems.

As with Little Red, Indian Red has been given short shrift by the boxing establishment. Hard to believe that Little Red is just now coming up for IBHOF election. It's criminal negligence he wasn't nominated his first year of eligibility and those electors deserve to be horsewhipped at high noon.
