Why is this the only forum that you have to become a member in order to view it?

It's to do with the British Libel and Defamation laws. If opinions are distributed in the public domain, then the website leaves itself open to litigation.

By insisting you are a member before you can view the forum, it offers some measure of protection, but probably not that much.

There was an incident some time ago where the owner of the site was threatened with legal action over comments posted on here, by one Mr Warren.

Is it to stop us saying allegedly is a greedy selfish ugly bent pudendum?
