It's not fair/I kissed a girl

Who would win in a fight between Katy Perry and Lily Allen?

:OhYes:

But seriously, a proper question.

Could women's boxing ever become as popular as mens, at a professional level, and if not, why not? Personally, with competative match ups and some talented fighters, I don't see why not.

the female constitution cannot cope with being hit hard.

In short....take some of the mismatches that get served up in the men's game.....then multiply that by 10. The best women are powerful tough f*ckers that bang, but the less capable female boxers will be even less capable than their less capable male counterparts, which could lead to crap matches and serious injuries. IMO.

I base this entire theory on one KO punch I saw some blonde powerhouse (German I think, sponsorship the lot)..deliver on to her opponent's kisser. The oppo seemed to almost turn into a corpse for a couple of seconds, the eyes , the mouth, the arms, and then finally the legs, all shut down one by one, then she just dropped like a stone. I have never seen any male look as overmatched as that poor woman.

I guess it could, but I really don't think it will. Who wants to see a man KO another man? Now turn it to, who wants to see a woman KO another woman? People generally don't like that. Maybe things will change in the future, but I don't think so. I don't know whether it's because people feel more protective over women. Perhaps someone could expand on my post.

If boxing is viewed as a sporting contest, then should gender, or other factors, make much difference?

It's a bit like saying "who wants to watch 2 children try to KO each other" , but under 18 amateur boxing is quite popular.

None of them would last long against a prime Donita Sparks.

The talent pool in female boxing is always going to be lacking compared to the mens. I don't know any girls who have took it upon themselves to go down the boxing gym to knock seven shades of shit out of one another; it just isn't appealing to 99% of females.

But under 18 amateur boxing can't compete, in popularity, with professional men's boxing. The question is whether female boxing could become as popular as male boxing.

It's popular, for example, in the army.

.... ok then, it isn't appealing to 98% of females.

Lily Allen is ugly, even for an average girl. Katy Perry has big boobs at least. Lily Allen has a pig nose

Clearly the people on here seem to be missing the point.

Imagine if one of the female boxers injured her hand during a fight. Who would do her husband`s ironing?

Women are fair creatures (supposed to be) and are there for domestic chores and occasional drunken banging after a sesh. Women fighting in the ring is simply wrong. My mother was a woman for God`s sake.

Perry has a cracking body, but her appeal has dwindled massively imo.
Finding out a bird has shagged Russell brand is a major no no as far as I'm concerned!
I would need a steel johnny and she would need a good scrub(with swarfiga) before I went there!

She's ok I guess, I hadn't seen her since she lost weight, but she is nothing special. Ill take bit titty Perry over her anyday

To me she doesn't come close to being a knockout or anything of that likes.
