Who could he beat?

Daniel Santos
Nobuhiro Ishida
Sergio Gabriel Martínez
Cory Spinks
Sergiy Dzinziruk
Paul Williams

Not Santos, Martinez or Williams. Don't know about the others.

McDonagh is Hatton's fighter and will be at home. I doubt that Hatton is interested in taking options on Small as he is still managed by FW

williams will beat pavlik and stay at middleweight i think..why not martinez he hasn't beat anybody good..small would have a very good chance of beating him..same with spink's he is on the down side of his career loosing to verno phillips last year who is old and average and jus tscaping a split decision over latimore..small would beat cory in my opinion..i'd back him to beat ishida aswell..he'd have a chance aginst santos aswell because he has had about 4 fights in the past 5 years.

I don't think Matty Hall would say so and he is one tough dude, just not as tough as he thought.

Interesting signing for Hatton Promotions.

Is Small still in dispute with his previous/present manager & promoter Frank W arren?? :TU:

I was told Small thought he was out of contract with Mr W arren this year but due to winning a title there is some rule where a manager/promoter can exercise an 18 month extension option?

Is this correct or not - perhaps Boxing Tw*t could enlighten us all to the facts?

why not martinez he hasn't beat anybody good
Martinez would make Small look totally foolish. I like Small but we're talking about completely different levels. Small certainly doesn't appear to have Williams talent and of course Martinez should have definitely got the win over Cintron.

Small should be looking to rematch Pryce after this

Sergio Martinez is a class act, that'd be a very tough fight for Small

Glad somebody else wrote this. Martinez would do a complete number on Small, who's in danger of being vastly over-rated after the win over Hall.

I`m sticking with Small to do a Honeygan/Curry on someone if he gets the chance.

Fair enough, but my take is that he doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Honeyghan.

Lenny,
Pryce will not campaign at LM again so forget any rematch with Small.
On a general note, I believe Small has lost his attempt to wriggle out of his Managerial contract with Wazza.
That of course does not mean that he cannot be Promoted by whoever he chooses - but Hatton Promoting Wazza Managing ? I'd be amazed if that happens - but never say never.

Martinez is a class fighter, but he's hardly unbeatable. Richard Williams had him on the deck twice, remember.

Small should beat McDonagh.

Spud, don't think Small is a Ricky Hatton fighter. McDonagh is - thats why the fight is on a Ricky Hatton show.

Why? He's a great fighter. The way he handled Williams, who at the time was rightly highly regarded, was impressive and he's only gone from strength to strength since then. I only see Williams as a clear favourite over Martinez at world level.

I don't understand why people assume Small is a Hatton fighter because he is defending his title on a Hatton show v a Hatton fighter.
Small is still under managerial contract to FW and currently in limbo regarding a promotional contract.
