OMG....Anyone see this? I thought we were handing out some dud decisions of late....But this wasn't even close, Dirrell won easy and was handed his first defeat.

I've been saying for a long time now that Froch is the shittiest fighter i can remember in contrast to the hype he receives.....he's got a good chin and thats it......he was lucky to hit Dirrell with 15 clean punch's the whole fight and thats being extremely generous.


Who would want to fight in England after that?

kessler. Abraham over Taylor ! is it the the end for Taylor ? 8)

obviously gassed out again late but on current forum they are saying he was hit with elbows as well.

Mate Frochs F#cked,won't even be close with Kessler.

Even the commentators from England had Dirrell winning and the crowd was pretty quite throughout the fight..which all but tells you what really happened...I would feel hard done by if i was Dirrell.

just wondered if you watched it dawg, no underlying reason. its just that i have just clicked on half way during the day that these fights were on that's all mate. just having to catch up on the feedback from forum and fightnews reports.

I got the best stream i've had in a year today, clear picture, you could here the punch's connecting and not once did i have to refresh...Thanks to the guy/girl who streamed

It was a boring fight, Dirrel did enough to win it, I couldn't make a case for Froch getting more than 3-4 rounds. Even with the deduction i still had it 115-112
I'd take Mundine and Geale both over Froch after this performance. He is very one dimensional. Has a great chin and heart but little else.

I scored the fight, and was very bias in favor of Froch, and still had Dirrell winning by 2 rounds. Dirrell at times showed brilliant speed and power, if he would had been more aggressive he could have stopped Froch who was swinging widely and doing nothing.

Certainly not an awe inspiring performance from either man but this goes to show that no one place on planet earth is better or worse when it comes to home town advantage. Oh well. So much for a 'super six' bout.

Looks like they will have to find somebody else to replace Jermain Taylor. Taylor was hospitalised after being pole axed by Abraham in the 12th round of their fight and is expected to retire. Taylor is suffering from memory loss.

is there any truth in the claims that taylor was hit by a few errant elbows??

Yeh, He was.

it really pisses me off how the word "robbed" is so overused.

the fight was close and froch was fortunate. if it had gone the other way there would have been people saying the decision was wrong as well.

lets just see if froch can prove himself against kessler or abraham

dirrell did a usain bolt impersonation for the first 6 rounds. froch was moving forward and closing down dirrell and the judges obviously saw this as effective aggression which as ben k will tell u is one of the things judges look for.
they also look for ring generalship which froch clearly showed by continuously looking to close down dirrell.

it wasnt too effective though and froch couldnt close the ring off i had it close and said a draw before it was announced a split

I happen to agree with you - it was a VERY poor performance by Froch and a bad decision. I had it 116-111 for Dirrell.

A lot - the majority - of the British fans think so too.

Absolute rubbish.

Froch's footwork was terrible and he hardly landed a meaningful punch all night. Effective aggression isn't plodding forward and not landing a punch.

Froch gets the ring generalship tick? Are you kidding? Dirrell clowned him. did you notice how Dirrell would back step then step off to the side and leave Froch with nothing? Dirrell controlled the pace, landed more and landed the harder shots.

It was boring fight. But your take is way off.

Adam I'll just trump this up to blind patriotism.......Froch is a bum with a good chin and i wouldn't jump on his band wagon, I know i would never normally say this but i even think Mundine schools Froch.

For the record, Blind freddy even called it a robbery....only a small group of Brits think Froch won!

Effective aggression is one of the criterias for scoring, But it all really comes down to clear scoring punches, If you land more scoring punches in a round you should get the round.
Then again a fighter can control the fight off the back foot, So having said that if Dirrell was fighting off the backfoot and landing more punches whilst making Froch miss he can also get the round.

I had Dirrell up by 3 rounds, And now after reading the scorecards. The Italian guy should be given his marching orders. How he gave Froch the last 2 rounds is a joke. Dirrell easily won the last 2 round. That cost Dirrell the fight.
