Support for Froch

I've had enough with all the negatives about Froch's fight with Dirrell.
Ok he didn't box as well as he as done but he got the job done. Every great champion has a off day and scrambles a win by points and this was Froch's.
I thought he done well under the curcumstances, Dirrell came to spoil and win by just defensive skills alone, because of this I think he deserved to lose the fight.
Most people thought that this would be tricky, if not an easy win for Froch and I can't see any of the other fighters escaping from Froch like Dirrell did. I am confident that Froch will show everyone what he's all about in his next 2 fights.
Another pointer is how knackared Dirrell looked compared to Froch in between rounds and for the little amount of punches landed he was quite bruised up, Froch didn't have a mark on him which to me shows me that Froch was on top of things.
Froch is a British world champion who holds a proper belt and not a mimick, he is underfeated and is prepared to fight anyone and people still slate him and say things like he's finished, what a load of rubbish. He won with 2 judges (non British) having him winning by 3 rounds so he would of won even without the points deduction.
Come on people get behind one of Britains best boxers at the moment and come on Froch prove all the haters and doubters wrong and at least beat Kessler.

Froch is my favourite fighter but I think he should have lost last night. It wasn't a robbery, some of Froch's roughhouse work was effective - but the majority of the quality punches came from the American.

Froch is the greatest fighter in the world (in his own mind). In reality he's probably just the best boxer in nottingham, i reckon Barker could take him if he moved to SMW.

I think none of the more established posters are being personal about Froch... the guy lost, end of though.
Nothing against him... but Dirrell should be champion. My anger is with the judges.

So far I havent seen the fight so its hard to judge. I had a feeling it would be close, although most seemed to think Froch would walk it. I never have liked Frochs arrogance or his style. Hes exciting because he has power and can KO opponents, apart from that there isnt much to like about him. Two opponents he wont beat are Kessler who he fights next and AA, so no way can he win this tournament. Froch will lose his unbeaten record next time out. An off night is a joke of an excuse. He is now fighting the best and he is out of his league. That hands down style wont work at this level. He isnt really all that popular outside Nottingham and based on what little I know about this fight, its unlikely it has done him any favours.

LOL Froch is better than just the best in Nottingham, but he certainly isnt the best in the World. The super six tournament is about finding out who is the best SMW and Froch wont be in the final.

I've always loved Froch, he's a proper warrior, he's far from perfect technically, but he has heart, determination, power and a willingness to put it all on the line - all highly commendable.
However, last night, he fought awfully, it's not good him complaining that Dirrell refused to stand and trade, why would dirrell want to fight Froch's fight. He did little or nothing to try and force Dirrell to do so. Where were the body shots, where was the jab to stop Dirrell doing as he wanted from range.
Froch fought terrible tactics, and didn't listen or try to execute what his corner were telling him to do. Chasing Dirrell around like a headless chicken and winding up massive single power shots was precisely what they were telling him NOT to do.
Froch got lucky, and I'll bet a pound to a penny McCracken read him the riot act when the fight was over.

Dirrell is good alright, he's got a lot to learn, but eff me, he's lighting quick with amazing reflexes and balance, that much was obvious.

I thought Froch did enough to retain his title, but I'm from the school of "don't turn up and try to nick a world title on the back foot, while trying to avoid being hit all night". Froch wasn't at his best, but Dirrell would give anyone nightmares with that style and reflexes. I'm shocked at the amount of venon directed towards him on Boxrec today. A while back, I was similarly shocked by the venon spewed out towards Ricky Hatton.
You'd expect such bile to be written about people being found guilty of the worst crimes that can be committed, not about a sportsman !
This is a boxing forum website, where boxing fans come on to swap opinions. I don't get why such personal nastiness against Froch comes into the equation. Given the late hour when the result became known, maybe some of it was written by people who were drunk ?
Throughout the course of a football season, teams will lose when they should have won, and vice versa. That's life. Ditto for boxing, or any other sport.
Ricky Gervais' latest film is about a bloke who, living in a world where everyone always tell the truth all the time, tells the very first lie, ever. Some of the nonsense being written about Froch on here is so personal, its as though he handed himself the decision, and that its the first controversial decision ever in the sport of boxing. What nonsense.
Carl has done it the hard way - British, Commonwealth, European followed by the WBC title, and his last three opponents have been top notch; he deserved to beat Pascal, he came from behind to stop Taylor, and if he's got himself a fortunate decision this weekend, well a lot of world champions, during the course of an entire career, will find themselves in that position, at least with Froch there isn't a pattern, as there was with, for example, Sven Ottke.
Well done to Carl for taking the long hard road. My hat is off to him. He didn't award himself the decision last night, did he ? He pressed the fight for 12 rounds and two professional judges gave him the decision so he keeps his title and moves on. Another thread on here was titled "Froch is finished" or something like that. I would imagine Froch, if he were to read it, would laugh his head off, wonder what possesses such saddos to spend their time writing nonsense, and then remember that he is an unbeaten world champion advancing in the Super Six tournament, with big fights ahead of him, loads of money to come, and a gorgeous woman too. Froch is finished ?? If that's being finished, I'll have some please

If froch cant beat an up and comer what chance has he got against a genuine seasoned champ like AA or Kessler. Dirrell Maybe good but at this stage in his career a real world champion would have enough to beat him, calzaghe would of cleared his clock.

Alot of bitterness towards Froch, not sure why to be totally honest? Maybe its just bitter Calzaghe fans? Maybe not.
Carl tried to outbox the boxer and despite possesing decent technical skills himself, thats not what has got him this far.
Dirrell's performance was disappointing, to say the least. He tried to pick pocket the fight, too much back tracking, holding and missing. I think people are exaggerating that he connected with alot of punches, he was missing wth more or they were blocked.
Granted Froch was not exactly a ball of fire either, he was nontheless forcing the fight. Thee is no way the fight was a robbery, I thought Dirrell nicked it but it was one of those where you pick your posion.
Buncey and Rosenthal (2 of the best boxing men) called it for Froch, and you cant accuse them of favouritism, they are unbiased and call it the way they see it, regardless - That says alot, for me.

Froch's problem is that he has shouted his mouth off more than just about any other boxer in Britain. So, when he puts in a poor performance, it comes back to bite him.
But then the things said bad about him last night are not in anyway worse than the sort of rubbish that has been peddled about Calzaghe, Hatton and Khan. But then a lot of the rubbish spouted about those, particularly Calzaghe and Khan, has come from Froch and his supporters. So, if you can't back up the abuse, stay quiet.
By the way, I was there and I thought Dirrell won. It was very close, but I thought he edged it.
