Moore & Rhodes

As a way of putting what was seemingly a snooze fest between Direll and Froch (I've not seen the fight yet - thanks primetime, saved me £15) behind us lets get everyones final thoughts on this Friday's WBC title eliminator between Moore & Rhodes.

Persoanlly Im going for Jamie mid to late KO. I think he'll be on the kind of form that won him the euro title, compact, aggressive, picking precision punches. I dont think Rhodes will be able to hang with the type of fighter he's going to be up against on Friday, and I think Moorsey will take over following some close rounds, I reckon from around the 4th.

Hurrah a non Froch thread!

I think Moore with have a surprisingly easy time with Rhodes, who may have a couple of moments early, but will be broken down by Moore for a latish stoppage whilst well ahead on the scorecards.

Moore KO8

Rhodes is a good boxer if given time but Moore will pressure him for 8 hard, gruelling rounds Rhodes might box well early keeping Moore at range but eventually Jamie will wear him down and stop him late :box:

Ryan to stop him by about 7 rounds, possibly earlier.I anticipate Ryan landing a lot of hard, accurate, shots and bashing Moore up and then forcing the stoppage.

It should kick off a fantastic month for boxing, and put behind us the likes of McDermott Fury and Froch Direll!

Moore will break him down around the 7th and stop him. It will be Rhodes taking the harder punches, Moore will prove he's world class.

No disrespect to Ryan, he's a very good fighter, but for my money Moore is better.

Will be a great fight.

Agreed it's a super night and surprised it's not a 9:30 start. Obviously Moore v Rhodes will be live, but might we see Price live? Or maybe even one of the title fights?

Moore very early or Rhodes on points

Ryan can be caught and hurt early but if he is still there after 3/4 rounds he has the style to beat Moore.

Cracking fight

I am glad we are starting to talk about this fight - its a bloody brilliant fight and I cannot wait for it.

I think Ryan Rhodes chance is early - sometimes Jamie gets caught early and I honestly believe that is Ryan's only chance - first 4 rounds or not at all.

Although I think Ryan will have an early lead - If he doesn't catch Jamie early then from the 7th or 8th round we will see Jamie go into a lead and possibly have Ryan worried whether he is going to last the distance or not - personally I think he will hang on but Moore will win the fight by a wide points margin.

This is pretty much how I see it as well - Ryan's faster hands will allow him to edge the opening rounds as Moore just feels him out, but I see Moore stepping on the gas and closing him down as the fight progresses to take a close but clear-cut decision and it's not out of the question he could stop Ryan late. However, while I think the likelihood is that Moore will take a clear-cut verdict, I don't see him walking through Rhodes in the manner that some on here are predicting.

Ryan Rohdes is too much of a survivor for that to happen - although I will say if Moore does stop him then that will be some win.

Whilst I am here - I do not completely discount a Rhodes early knock down of Moore.

Rhodes was beaten clearly by Lockett so if Moore is going anywhere he should be handling the likes of Rhodes.
