So many Froch threads on here, surely some should be merged.

Anyway, to move away (slightly), whats the worst descision you've seen in a boxing ring...

A few off the top of my head

Vincent - Barnes - Jimmy won that one, wasnt Warren threatening to pull barnes out at one point?
Sturm - DLH - Thought the German did more, but DLH got the nod, surely only to set up a fight with Hopkins.

Also, the ammount of points James Toney won by against Vassily Jirov, to this day I dont think that fight had such a big point margin, although Ive only watched it the once.

I'll sort it when I have time.

Holyfield v Valuev - I could count on a crabs claw the amount of times Valuev landed each round.

John vs Marquez was poor I had Marquez 2 up.

Lewis-Holyfield 1 I had Lewis 3 up.

Fury-McDermott I had McDermott 4 up.

I agree that Toney-Jirov was poor I had it 2/3 rounds to Toney, Froch was a bad decision but not the worst i've seen by far

JC Chavez over Pernell whittaker - a fekking disgrace and a half.

funny I thought that Toney whupped him, almost everything Jirov threw was blocked.

didnt matter in he end but cosme rivera was only level with james hare going into the 10th


McDermott one was probably the worst I have seen. I couldnt see a way t score it for Fury but then if given to him by a point or two I could stomach it. 6 points in a 10 rounder. My eyesight must be worth than I thought

Despite being a big Chavez fan I totally agree on that one.

Barnes v Vincent is probably the worst I've watched live though.

Ottke Reid, I had Reid a good winner in that one.

See, I didnt, I thought the reffing was poor but I didnt think Reid was winning to be honest, just that the ref was terrible and didnt count the knockdown (or did he call a knockdown on reid - i forget) or let Reid get going.

heard that since James, should really re-watch. Seem to remember Roach telling Toney at the end of the 11th "you need a KO to win this" , almost on command Toney dropped Jirov!

Me too, it also had the weirdest scorecards I've ever seen.

reid pissed all over Ottke for the first six rounds, yet he hardly got a round on the scorecards, and yet over the second half, where Reid did virtually nothing, they gave him four of the last six.

It was almost as if they were evening it up to make it look a bit better.

My problem with that was the ref more than the judges, if it wasn't for the ref penalising Reid for wanting to fight then Reid could have stopped him, but he basically stopped fighting in fear of DQ.

Yes agreed, the ref was clearly either completely incompetent, or had been handsomly paid to ensure that Ottke got every possible advantage. I couldn't believe it when Reid was warned for clocking Ottke in the mush with a left hook! Incredible.

There was a scandal after the fight as to how Tillerman got appointed, as he had no experience as a top class professional referee, most of his experience was refereeing amateur bouts, and the IBF passed over several other hugely experienced referees in favour of tillerman, this was ordered my Mr Maldrotto, an italians IBf official, who had previously been implicated in a scandal involving a bung of a foreign holiday and expensive watch from a promoter.

Yes, that was an absolute bleeding travesty, I just couldn't understand that. Even the American writers were toally nonplussed by the decision.

I know it didn't go to a decision but Richard Steele stopping Meldrick Taylor vs Chavez after 2.58 of the 12th round with Taylor cruising to a SD victory was a terrbile refereeing decision. He deserved to be allowed to continue for 2 more seconds!

Worst in a small hall fight = Jacobs vs Dunne or Vincent vs Barnes.

Worst in a major fight = Mosley vs DLH 2, Foreman vs Schulrz in a "lesser" major fight - Foreman vs Briggs.

Have to say Froch vs Dirrell is "up there" in the worst in a major fight bracket

I disagree actually, the ref was right to stop it, Taylor had taken a horrific beating during that fight and was swallowing lots of blood from a fractured orbit bone around his eye, one punch could have been enough in that instance.

Also, how aware was steele there were two second or ten seconds left?
