the competition will take the best part of 2 years

what happens with froch wbc , and kessler wba mandatory defences????

say pavlik moves up and is made no1 contender , and 1 of the organistaions demand that froch or kessler fight him when they are still in the super 6

will they need to give up their title

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that they had both sanctioned the tournament.

Jose sulliaman says froch's mandatories are suspended but dirrel was his mandatory anyway i think and all the otheres are rated by the WBC so it wouldnt matetr as for kessler id think similar applies

Of course the WBC are happy, they get to make up a brand new title to keep the sanctioning fees rolling in while this is going on.

They could have a "non super 6 super middleweight in recess/mandatories suspended till the super 6 tournament is over interim champion of the world (except parts of europe ) super champ and present them with a diamond belt

Kessler got his mandatory out of the way in his last fight. If he beats Ward, the Froch fight will be a unification which will lead to a "super champion" situation.

when you think about it, some of the fighters in the tourney are probably the top contenders for some of the belts anyway. so if the fighters agree to take the route, it should be ok. unless the twats start sneaking in mandatories left right and centre. surely the WBA and WBC would like the publicity and the sanctioning fees, provided the tourney is a success.

glad someone brought this up. because this could be why bute was left out. IBF very strict with their mandatory title defenses, often stripping big names in favour of obscure vacant title fights.

Isn't Kessler fighting in between his super 6 fights?

I thought I saw it somewhere and I thought they were being shown on Eurosport.

I read somewhere that the wbc suspended mandatories for the super middleweight division until the super 6 finishes
