The opening Super Six clash drew huge TV ratings in Germany. Public free-to-air TV giant ARD recorded a peak market share of almost 40 percent on late Saturday evening. “That is phenomenal,” Kalle Sauerland said. “It shows how great the fan interest in the Super Six World Boxing Classic is. We could not have hoped for a better start.” In Denmark, the fight drew a peak commercial market share of 37,4 percent on TV2. A sell-out crowd over 14.200 fans watched the clash at the famed o2 World in Berlin.
Shame on the BBC, ITV, SKY and everyone else for not trying to do the same in GB.

I know I've said this before, but it's hard to blame TV.

There has been so much non-competative, and frnakly uninteresting boxing recently that it must be difficult for them to take an interest. When something that looks decent finally DOES come along, can they be blamed for being cynical.

Boxing needs to get itself back on the right track- quality shows, charismatic fighters WELL MATCHED bouts, then TV interest will pick up.

Moore V Rhodes is a fantastic fight, on a fantastic bill- lots of good action. They need LOTS more bills like that!

The British title need to become a competative title once again, not just a token belt. Someone needs to have the balls to drop the Commonwealth, or merge it with the British.

Good post

Boxing will always do great viewing figures especially on terrestial tv, its only a few years ago that the first Audley Harrison vs Danny Williams got over 10 million viewers on a ITV saturday 10pm slot and had they invested in Carl Froch then he could also have got close to that figure for the Jermain Taylor and Andre Dirrel fights.
