I think Kastidis holds the cards here, not Henessy.

x2.

No offence to Murray but on another thread there was a response from Kat about this and he didn't seem to have a fornicating clue who John Murray was! He probably has bigger fish to fry...

Yeah, and in the meantime (while john is picking up those 2 or 3 wins) what is kastidis doing? There are plenty of guys at lightweight who could feasibly outbox the aussie brawler and take the title from him, he's far from unbeatable, but one of the most marketable. A lot of water has to pass under the bridge before Murray gets his world title shot IMO. Best thing for John is to concentrate on the Europ title, then move form there. Lets talk about world titles when they are realistically within touching distance, at present many on here may think he's good enough, but few outside message boards and the UK are aware of him, or his credentials.

Katsidis isn't all that but he would beat the piss out of Murray, who has proving the sum total of nothing in his career to date. 'Losing' a WBC Youth Title fight and going life and death with 167 yer old mexican journeyman and youssef al hamidi does not make him ready for people in/around world class

Obliterated? LOL muppet.

Katsidis has bigger fish to fry at the moment - there have been talks of a fight with Hatton. Would be a fantastic job by Hennessy if he could get Murray the fight, but as it stands does he really deserve it? Murray is a great prospect but in world-level terms he's beaten no-one of note. He needs to bag himself the european title, perhaps make a defence against Arthur and get some international experience against a Santa Cruz , Chavez or Diaz. That's in an ideal world and it would serve him well for a fight against Katsidis. But however it happens, it's a real spectacle in prospect - great clash of styles. And I tell you what, looking at the rankings, theres no easy way to the top at lightweight. No wonder Khan moved up!

Think Murray is better than people are giving him credit for but think he should go European first.

Another thread where people jump on the bandwaggon of "oh a fighter stuggled against someone he shouldn't of and therefore will get battered by someone else". We all know boxing doesn't work out that way, look at Pac mans early defeats and now look at who he's beat and what he's achieved in the sport.

If your looking at previous records look at Kastidis victory against Graham Earl, yes an easy 5th round stoppage, pity he couldn't knock him out in the 1st round like Henry Castle did or what Khan did and Khan took longer than Castle and now Khan is world champion and Castle struggles to even get a British title so it doesn't matter who a boxer has beat or lost to in the past it just matters who they beat in the present.

Look at Jermain Taylor beating Bernard Hopkins.

I think out of interest Murray would beat Kastidis and Romanov.

Katsidis said on the radio this morning that he is waiting for Marquez to make up his mind to fight him and if he doesn't the WBO will make him the World Champion and he can pick anyone for his 1st defence.

 Both Earl and Taylor were totally different fighters during the fights you mentioned, they are both way past their best.

I think you can probably gather the answer is that Murray is not on Kat's radar and if they did fight we, as a Boxrec collective, think Kat would win :TU:

Wow, a Boxrec forum member who shares my opinion that he isn't the mutts' nuts simply because he's a lightweight whose name isn't Amir Khan!

Exactly what I meant just like Earl and Taylor were completely different fighters, so is Murray.

Oh and when Khan beat Earl it was the very next fight after Kastidis so he couldn't of been that much different.

People argue What Khan done to earn his world title shot after life and death with a faded super Feather Gomez former faded Super Bantam /fether Barrera and getting kod in 1 at lightweight how does he be ready for a world title shot on that form. :witzend:

When did he go "life and death" with Barrera?

Anyway, won't find many who disagree with Khan not deserving the shot at the time he got it. Rightly or wrongly, Barrera was ranked by the WBO, but at lightweight, so probabloy not enough to warrant the WBA shot at Kotelnik, but whatever, we know it's politics. The point is, he was given the shot and he went out there and won it.
