- That's all well and good, but a touted great like Ali's biggest curse in the future is gonna be that almost all his fights exist on video. I won't be around to watch them figure out all by their lonesomes that the guy was quite often hot or cold and hit or miss in his ring performances.

Just run the tapes that exist of Dempsey for example to be matched at that exact age of Ali's fights and Ali comes up short. Do the same thing with Louis who has more tapes against Ali. What we end up for Ali is "But he beat Liston, Patterson, Frazier, Norton, Foreman, even Spinks for crying out criminy's sake."

My man, that's as good as gold. Do you need a video to know what Abraham Lincoln said in his Gettysburg and Emancipation Proclamation addresses also?

I never mentioned Ali.

I know plenty of people that proclaim that they fear no man, so what of it.

I do not fear Rashad Evans or Lyoto Machida, but they would certainly beat
me should I ever have the honor of stepping into the cage with them.

Using a speech as an example in the context you have is a tad daft.
We are discussing fighters, boxing for the fan is a visual sport.
Politicians only have their words, whether spoken or in print. So they naturally
stand the test of time through written word.
