King Davidson won regional light middle title last night, therefore OZ title is now vacant.
It's unfortunate Fayad isn't experienced enough nor rated to contest it.

Just wondering. Sam Soliman won the Australian Cruiserweight title in 1997 after one four rounder of pro boxing.
How about that? A 12 rounder in his second fight!

Wimnning 84 of 95 amateur fights probably did not hurt either, but it is still a good effort.

Actually at the time, I was a member of ANBF's ratings committee. Given it was Kinsella's voluntary defence & Sam's combat experience, I didn't have a problem giving it all clear.
Different story if it was mandatory or for vacant title.
