Calzaghe the victim of extreme jealousy

Obviously every boxer gets hated on to some degree:
Ricky Hatton
Amir Khan
Audley Harrison
Enzo Maccarenelli
David Haye
Carl Froch
Naseem Hamed
Every fighter has got their own selection of haters
But looking on various websites and forums and with all these joke Calzaghe videos on youtube
Its clear that Calzaghe is the victim of "extreme" jealously
People can pick holes in every fighter and every record and career - and pick flaws and imperfections and say he ducked this guy or that guy, etc, etc
Calzaghe is no different - you can pick numerous holes in him and his career
He is boring
He slaps with his fists
He never fought a prime Roy Jones
(so what ? - Jones would have won - big deal)
He held the WBO title and defended it against bums,
Etc
Etc
Etc
But the striking thing is - people seem so keen to point out all his shortcomings as a person a fighter and as a career
The reason is "extreme" jealously
The main reasons for this are because of the following.......................
1.) He is a young good looking guy - super fitness and in great health - looks more like a male model than a former boxer - sharp dresser - looks younger than his age of 37 years old.
2.) He can pull glamorous women - wether it be his sexy X wife Mandy, or his Model Girlfriend Jo Emma Larvin or the bird of Strictly Coming Danncing - or the young sexy blonde 21 year old BT worker he was nailing before, whatever
He can pull nice women - period.
3.) Got two nice sons - and now they are heathly and fit and can have a quality life and finical security provided from them by their Dad.
His sons are now "rich" kids - and have the genetic inheritance - of Champion Dad - Joe Calzaghe.
He achieved so much in a unorthdox way - with his stable - and his Dad / Fighter partnership will go down as one of the best ever.
4.) He was a class boxer / fighter - fast - heart of a champion - knock him down - he just gets back up swinging - went to Madison Square Garden stood in front of Roy Jones and shook his hips in the middle of the fight

- what a legend !!
5.) He won all these titles and was a Champion for so long - and achieved so much.
6.) He went to America and fought twice - beating two legends - (even if one of them was past his best)
7.) He retired with 46-0 - never to be beaten - never to be "exposed" - that really is something people resent.
8. ) Still realtively young and healthy and fit - now retired - with a multi million pound fortune - he gets to enjoy the rest of his life still in front of him.
9.) Owns properties / got investments in promotions / and other things - now on TV shows, etc - potential to achieve so much more
I slagged off Calzaghe many times myself over certain things - should have fought Froch, etc
But I am really sick of all the obvious jeaoulsy that people always direct to Calzaghe
Haters just refusing to give credit to him
He is a winner - and few British fighters can compare to what he achieved

most of the critisism he deserves is from him contradicting himself but that only makes up around 5% of what he gets and he doesnt deserve it

Why is Enzo Maccarenelli on that list and not Alan Minter.
He is the only fighter I cannot stand.

Flint, there should be a third option of 'Calzaghe brought a bit of the criticism on himself but people always go over the top'

Well that should be opition 1
That most people are just obviously jealous
Because everyone deserves some form of critism
And Cazlaghe there are many issues to have a go at him about - like the WBO reign at Cardiff Ice Rink , etc
But for people just totally refusing to give any credit for what he achieved
Alot of people always slag him off by saying the thing he didnt do
But my argument - and the list of points I have made is
Regardless of what he didnt do
People are jealous of him for what he is (good looking ladies man) and what he did do (46-0 , world titles, money, etc)

jealous people
Calzaghe was very successful
And now can bask in retirement - of ladies, money, and fine wine
And has a very imperssive C.V

Not jealousy
But the victim of hate - critics, etc
Maybe some of that was deserved
After he talked himself up = after the Haye fight - well on ESB at least - there was plenty of abuse directed at him and he was labelled a Glass Jawed Journeyman.

Calzaghe dresses in the finest silk shirts on TV shows
He is a good looking guy
He is young and fit
He is shagging that blonde dancer that most men would love to be in his position
37 years old - and retired - easy life
Multi million pound fortune
Achieved his goals - WBC / WBO /IBF / WBA Champion
Ring Light heavyweight Champion
46 fights = 46 wins
easy to see why people have the ugly green eyed monster towards the Welsh Warrior

He deserves criticism. He's dishonest and contradictory, as well as disrespectful. He pulled out of an awful lot of fights, wasting an awful lot of fans' hard-earned money. He fought once or twice a year for 10 years as 'world champion' which is disgraceful, how he did it I don't know but it was corrupt and wrong, very dark period for the sport.
OK, if they were big fights or against the best, that would be cool. But they were in front of 900 people at Newport Ice Rink, against Tucker Podwill's. Then he complains about 'lack of recognition'. For what?
Jeff Lacy I never rated, never saw anything remotely special about him. He barely got by a shot Sheika and seemed to arch with his punches in a musclebound manner. With Joe's tight punching, hand-speed, combinations and loose movement I didn't understand how Lacy could be such a favourite (or even in the fight for that matter), I tried to see it but I couldn't. Plus he froze on the night itself to boot, clearly tight in the shoulders.
He should be praised for his fitness and stamina that night and overcoming the fears of Lacy's physique etc, though.

I lost a lot of respect for Calzaghe after he fought Jones Jr. Utter crass hypocrisy.

I agree to a degree
No doubt Joe is a bit of a c~~t in ways
He is a bitter sod himself
But most of stuff he gets bashed for is just jealously.

Has Flint fallen out of love with Big Mac and in love with Calzaghe?
I think people see him as a bit of fraud, ie pretending to be the best ever when hes not sort of thing even though hes a top class boxer. This is partly some of his fans on certain forums going overboard. People also dont like protected fighters

Exactly
Thats why I think Calzaghe is no different than lots of people
Like he took the Roy Jones fight as he saw a fight against a modern day legend - at Madison Square Garden as a nice way to finish his career
Instead of taking a tougher fight against a Pavlik or a Dawson or a Froch
He did it for his own selfish reasons - but then lots of people would in the same position

The only real critisism i have ever had with joe is that he had such great talent and left it too late to show the world, not saying who's fault that is.
