BEST FLYWEIGHT EVER?
paul gonzalez? michael carbajal?
Re: BEST FLYWEIGHT EVER?
Nonito Donaire would probably be the best in my opinion. He definitely proved he has great power, he's really quick, and he has much better footwork than the others.

Ever Jimmy Wilde he was a very special fighter.
More recently i'd have to say though he eighed less than 112 Ricardo Lopez.

This is the amateur forum...El Raincoat wrote:Ever Jimmy Wilde he was a very special fighter.

See above. As an amateur he didn't make the Olympics.Nonito Donaire would probably be the best in my opinion. He definitely proved he has great power, he's really quick, and he has much better footwork than the others.
They were light flyweights.paul gonzalez? michael carbajal?
The best amateur flyweights I've seen (counting only from the 1980-present) would probably be one of these:
Maikro Romero in OG Atlanta 1996
Yuriorkis Gamboa in OG Athens 2004
Chol Su Choi in OG Barcelona 1992
Istvan Kovas in WCH Sydney 1991
Others that were left out: Pedro Orlando Reyes, Istvan Kovacs, Manuel Mantilla, Bolat Jumadilov, Raushee Warren, Somjit Jongjohor...

I only mentioned Lopez & Wilde because even though it was an amateur forum it seemed to have a pro edge to it because Donaire didn't do much in comparison to the guys you mentioned at the bottom.locoxelbox wrote:This is the amateur forum...El Raincoat wrote:Ever Jimmy Wilde he was a very special fighter.

I'd go with Maikro Romero as the best one.

BEST AMATEUR FLYWEIGHT ever, tough pick because very few of us, if any were bouncing around when George Finnegan won Olympic Gold in 1904. Then there were Frankie Genaro (1920),
Fidel LaBarba, and Terry Spinks from England. :??
