Gomez burst onto the scene when he destroyed Gary Thornhill and Carl Greaves. His lifestyle since then appears to have destroyed his career but he still has the power to hurt AAA, who though decent, isnt exactly elusive... What price a left hook landing and sparking the Edinburgh braggart???

It's a very good question. Arthur hasn't looked as good as the hypsters would have us believe recently, though he's still unbeaten and hasn't really been troubled in his career to date. Gomez, we were also told, was 'shot' after the Lear setback, but in fact has been looking sharp of late (against fairly routine opposition admittedly). I think this is a fascinating battle. Arthur, for all his height and reach, actually likes to fight - and we all know what Gomez likes doing. One thing I have noticed about Arthur is, he's no inside fighter. He comes in looking to land his big rights and his hooks to the body, but when he gets too close, he just looks for the referee to shout 'break'. Gomez looks to work. He IS very good inside.
If the Romanov-Lear fight also comes off on this Edinburgh bill in October as mooted, this could be one of the shows of the year.

First domestic fight I'm really looking forward to.

I pick Arthur to thrash Gomez in 7/8 one-sided rounds. I just see them as a class or two apart I really do. I think we've seen the best that Gomez can do but not Arthur. I feel Alex is more adaptable and in some ways the match-up reminds me (a little bit) of Lennox Lewis against Gary Mason.

Two 9 stone white guys remind you of a fight between two 17 stone+ black guys? Let me explain....

At the time I couldn't believe that most had it almost even, I just felt a Lewis victory was (almost) a certainty and although I'm not saying Arthur is as good at Super-Feather as Lennox is/was at Heavyweight I'm just saying I think we've already seen much more from Arthur than Gomez and I'm speculating that Arthur can take it a level further on the right occasion and I would guess a top of the bill British title showdown to establish domestic supremacy in front of his home fans at Edinburgh Castle will get that next level out of him.

gomez does have what it takes to beat arthur, he has to fight his best fight of his life to win the fight, it wont be a easy fight for both men,

i still think arthur will win,

This is gonna be a great Domestic fight and i feel that arthur will get the win in around the 9 or 10 round mark, but could get a scare from Gomez on the way.


I think that this is a great fight for him at this stage in his career

This has the hallmarks of a great fight, however i predict Arthur to weather an early storm and slowly pick the evermore frustrated Gomez apart. He will then proceed to stop him around 9 or 10, Arthur's win over Limond confirmed to me he will go far. However i could be wrong.....again

No question that Michael has the talent, but does he have the temperament?

Here we are May 2008, can Gomez beat does Khan?

He does have a chance.
