WORST DECISION YOU WOULD EVER SEE HAPPENED LAST NIGHT:

Wyong Leagues, Luxford v Cerniza.
Majority decision win to Luxford. He won one round...the 3rd. Cerniza knocked him down in the last round (4th, a big knock down) and had him on !@@%+ street with about 30 secs to go, Luxford hanging on for dear life. It was a 4x 2 min rd contest.
This needs mentioning. The fight was originally scheduled for 6 x 3's. At catchweight 65kg. Last Tuesday we learn it is a 4 round contest and it is now at 69kg. A 4 kg jump because Luxford can't make 65kg. I guess if you can't make weight, just add 4 kg. That'l do it.
It gets better. When we arrived last night, we are told it is now 2 minute rounds. Why? Because Luxford wanted it as he was concerned about his fitness level.
Worth mentioning...
I'm told Cec Perkins, scored the last round 10-9 for Cerniza. I know one judge scored it 10-8 for Cerniza. Why didn't Perkins? What do you have to do to get a 10-8 round? Cerniza was winning the round at the point of the knock down anyway. It wasn't like Luxford bashed him and got caught with a luck punch. That is just so far from the truth it's ridiculous. Craig Waller said he can imagine that Perkins had them even at 10-10 and then AFTER the round had completed, he rightfully deducted a point for the kd, to make it 10-9 Cerniza. Does that sound right? regardless...Cerniza was winning the round, so it's a bad card anyway. I was told the ringside doctor commented that it was the worst decision he had seen in 25 yrs of boxing. I was told personally by a long time am ref/judge, with over 7000 fights officiating that it was one of the worst decisions he had seen. He said it was a 10-8 round, no question, and Cerniza won by three points on his card. If this comes across as sour grapes or a rant, ahh well, so be it.
But this bullshit needs to be heard. We were screwed from the start. As Johnny Lewis said about Vegas judges "if you are going to bend us over, at least gives us our pants back". It was like that last night. A complete an utter disgrace and an insult to Jurland Cerniza.
