No OZ content & way too early in the day for pubs & clubs, which Main Event needs to make it viable.adamheight wrote:This is not good. How can main event pass this up? Even new Zealands sky sports is showing it
No need to be nasty, just 'cos they score incomplete roundstoppity wrote:2 hours ahead? i thought it was more like 20 years behind.......
Foxtel, Austar & Optus are struggling for subscribers... too expensive for average income earner.adamheight wrote:doesnt matter what time of day...a heavyweight title fight is a heavyweight title fight. any stateside fights r shown at 4am in england but that doesnt stop british fans demanding it.
australian televsion not televising the world heavyweight championship is a disgrace and it shows how unimportant boxing is down here
Bloody oath mate. Under 30% of households have pay tv, and that is in a relatively small market to start with, and out of them I guarantee only a very small percentage would be willing to pay from a fight like this, especially at the time. No way it is a viable option for Main Event.AntonS wrote:Foxtel, Austar & Optus are struggling for subscribers... too expensive for average income earner.adamheight wrote:doesnt matter what time of day...a heavyweight title fight is a heavyweight title fight. any stateside fights r shown at 4am in england but that doesnt stop british fans demanding it.

Not a great deal of fight fans have it. Cheaper to rock to the nearest pub/club & blow a few bucks on the bar.
I ain't stuck for a buck, but ain't prepared to blow 100 bucks per month to watch a few local Fox shows (some not worth watching) & then blow another 50 to get Main Event shows.
agree. they showed the Klit fight early morning. Love to know how much it would cost them.adamheight wrote:well channel 10 should show it then, or tens dedicated sports channel ONE HD.
I agree mate, It should be shown somewhere.adamheight wrote:well channel 10 should show it then, or tens dedicated sports channel ONE HD.
based on that i would have thought that they would be able to sell enough advertising to recoup overheads. It would be something different for them as well.Marlin wrote:Licensing fee probably wouldn't go for under 10K
$120 in 8 days if you get the DAWSON/JOHNSON, NDOU/HATTON & COTTO/PAC fights on. Unfortunately I live where there is no pub for 300k's that is likely to have the fights so will get it. You would think they could give a 3 for the price of 2 special or something !!!Marlin wrote:Bloody oath mate.
