Tony Dodson has called out Paul Smith, he has done it on the mersey gloves forum today.

What are peoples opinions on this?

I am happy for the scouse lads to fight each other in a round robin tournament - the atmosphere at the fights will be fantastic - just so long as Brain Magee is accommodated along the way.

Wouldn't be the sweet science but I'd welcome the local derby between two hungry fighters.

Smith need's to give Quigley a rematch before moving on imo. I see Smith winning it more clearly this time going forward more throwing more punches. I like Dobson but I dont think he deserves a title shot maybe a rematch against Quigley if Quig loses

Quigley deserves a rematch IMO. That should be Smith's first port of call.

All I'll say is this...

Dodson-Quigley was a hell of a better fight than Smith-Quigley.

Also, Dodson was beating Quigley far more convincingly (before gassing in the 12th) than Smith ever did on Friday night.

I think Dodson has the tools to beat both of them.

I dont think Smith beat Quigley, typical Warren man getting the decision :x Dodson would give the vastly over-rated Smith loads of problems, but Smith will bottle out of facing him I reckon.

this is funny commin from dodson, wats he done to deserve a shot, doesnt matter who was winnin the fight, its a 12 round fight, quigley stopped him in the 12th, get the back ov the que. hes shot anyway, quigleys strong physically, but not a banger, yet he dropped dodson 4 or 5 times. alls am sayin, if paul catches him, game over mate!! get back to mandortary(if he ever was ther) then ul get ur shot

I think from a business sense then a round robin between Smith/Quigley/Dodson would be excellent. Apart from Brian Magee, where else could sell out arenas be used???

first of he ws robbed against bendall and he won his next 4 fights after that fight

It wern't a title shot, Smith was English Champion, and he had won 4 fights since then, including the WBA International title...
And Dodson deserves to jump back into a British title shot after a Stoppage loss?

Magee deserves the next shot at Smith IMO. How about Dodson-Quigley II in an eliminator? Quigley does deserve a rematch for the British for losing such a tight fight but Magee should be given priority, he helped all this happen in the first place.

Quigley does deserve a rematch, but what have we done to deserve it?
And I actually place more blame on Quigley for the fight being shite, looked like a middleweight Matt Skelton.

Smith v Dodson would be a far more appealing fight.

Smith should use 2010 to accodomodate Quigley, Magee and Dodson... in that order, to try and get the belt outright.
