Was there a clause in the contract for a rematch with The Ugly One or does Haye move straight on to the mandatory with Ruiz?

Before last nights fight, Don King was talking about a rematch in the UK but it is Don King saying that, not exactly set in stone! Think Ruiz is def Hayes next opponent as the mandatory challenger.

Ruiz stepped aside for Haye/Valuev. He's next for Wba belt.

I hope there isn't a rematch, I certainly wouldn't pay £15 to watch it and I'm sure Haye wouldn't want it as style wise it's an awful fight.

I think a re-match clause was probably in the contract (not that anyone wants to see it again) Haye will have to get past Ruiz and Valuev again before thinking of a unification

Haye vs Ruiz- Haye wins by mid round stoppage
Haye vs Valuev-another hit and run job but wobbles Valuev more. Late Valuev retirement or a Haye UD
Haye vs Older Klitschko-Klitscko wins by mid round stoppage
Haye vs an unbeaten American/Russian prospect to get back on track-Haye wins by KO
Haye vs Baby Klitschko-Klit wins by late stoppage but not after getting a scare or two along the way

Its a bit premature but thats how I see Hayes next five fights

Think Haye would stop him in a re-match, now he knows how to deal with him

think your right on most points but i give haye a good chance of beating vitali.still vitali would be favourite. haye would destroy wladimir.all it takes is 1 right hand and wlad's legs go jelly

i thought there might be a rematch clause. let's see what the sauer one comes up with. i wonder if valuev would want it, after all the abuse (pre fight) and the frustration (moving target) during the fight, the schooling in rds 8 & 9 and then being hurt in the 12th as well.

haye did say he would consider a rematch if valuev "comes back and gets a few wins."

if there is pressure to defend vs valuev or lose WBA belt, wouldn't put it past haye to dump belt and fight vitali although vitali negotiations will probably be tough.

i just want haye to have more fights, really settle into heavyweight, and find his full potential. have some marketable fights (adamek?), then if still champ, gun for an ever ageing vitali. the experience must have been great, doing it away from home, fighting such a giant. i think haye could do some things vs vitali (but not necessarily win). his speed, his lateral movement, his head movement. and obviously a more willing offense. vitali softens you up methodically and is very good at this. but haye could frustrate him, and i doubt a single arm punch from vitali would have haye wobbling considering how well he handled it the one time valuev landed flush. haye could hit and move and do pretty well, if he has proper learning curve at the weight.

I think there was a rematch clause and haye has already said if valuev becomes a challenger he will definatley grant him a rematch.

Now haye knows he can hurt him i think he will be well up for it.

Id like to see valuev fight one of the klitschkos to be honest.

Haye really need to step up his activity in the ring next year, two fights in 2008 and one in 2009 is just not good enough for a man in his 20's, if Vitali Klitschko can do it at 38 with his history of injuries then Haye surely can too!

I expect 3 fights in 2010 starting with Ruiz in March/April which would leave him free in the Summer to fight against Vitali Klitschko(wlad is tied up with Chambers/Povetkin for most of the year) and then get another fight in by the end of the year.

The same could be about Haye getting hit with a bomb. The one thing Wlad doesn't like is getting involved in a scrap, he panics and makes mistakes. He has protected his chin really well over the past few years but get an explosive David Haye in with him and that could just be his downfall.

anyway, should be easier for him to get TV dates after selling 800,000 PPVS! TV being the main problem, before. now the opponents have to come to haye. i mean, he had to wait for mormeck, don king & WBC, had to trick macca's ppl into the fight, seemed to have about 10 potential opponents before barrett came over. haye having sold 800,000 PPvs and having won over the 02 in that massive british fight vs macca, is a commodity now - thankfully.

Valuev is not finished.

Wouldn't surprise me if he got a Klit in the ring before haye does.

Agreed...the one thing you can say about Valuev is that he has a good defence but Haye still managed to land 3 or 4 bombs on him that would have knocked down 99% of Heavyweights out there with the exceptions being Vitali Klit, McCall, Tua and one or two others.

If he landed one of those bombs on Wlad Klit, it'd be sure to fall.

i do think haye will have to vacate the WBA strap one day. haye is not one to level out, and once he's demolished ruiz, the list of challengers will probably be valuev, holyfield, ruiz...it will get stale, i reckon.

Haye would beat Valuev a lot easier next time, he wont be nervous and know exactly what to expect
