According to newspaper reports Haye may have earned in the region of £5Million for the fight.

Reading all the different reports in todays papers I have seen figures bandied around of between 500,000 and 1,000,000 buys for the fight. Haye is alleged to have done a deal to earn £5 for each PPV buy plus a larger share of the amounts pubs and clubs paid which is up to £700 depending on the size of the establishment.

We all know Haye was never going to really stand there and trade but his mouth has worked BIG TIME. All those that slate him and his mouth are missing the point.

His mouth earned him a version of the World Heavyweight Championship, £5Million plus has positioned him for some massive fights against the Klits.

A job well done in my opinion.

Yeah I agree.

Haye should have made a fortune from this fight and rightly so, it captured the publics imagination in a similar wau to Hatton-PBF. Bring on Ruiz... then the Klits

Guys, IMO David fought the only way he could fight. When one looks at the weaknesses of Haye and the attributes of his opponent, I feel there was only one way to win and that was to fight the way that he did.

However, watching with Watt muttering away, I thought he was edged out of the fight due to a punch output that was just too low. I do not feel he should have thrown a HUGE amount more because that could have brought his bad stamina problem into the equation BUT I do think he could have thrown more, just a bit more activity.

But his tactics themselves were spot on.
