If it's good for Haye it's good for British boxing.

There are more non boxing people talking about the sport right now than for years.

More power to him.

Haye is great at self-promotion. I heard him on 5 live the morning after the night before and loved how he (in his own words) had Valuev 'out on his feet' in the last round and you would basically think he won every round in a complete shoutout - I think this has even turned into public perception of the fight somewhat.

Don't get me wrong, I really like Haye but that is stretching the truth a bit.

^^ this

Now he's got a version of the title, let's hope he does something special, get Ruiz out of the way, knock Wlady sparko and then have a barnstorming triolgy with Vitali.

haye has repeatedly said he won 8 of the 12 rounds and valuev won 4

Yep, can't blame him...but has a fighter ever won the world heavyeight title, by throwing less punches over 12 rounds? In the champion's back yard no less...I can't think of any, got to be a first.

i agree this is great for boxing, this fight got regular people talking, carl froch fought a few weeks ago in a big event for the boxing world and no one could give a shit.

the more haye gets his face out there the better it will be for boxing, british boxing needs someone to fly the flag and i'm delighted it's haye.

Good for Haye, good for British boxing. The more popularity and exposure he gets the more people will be tuning into his next fight. Anything to help increase the popularity and relevance of boxing is good news.
