How's that for opponents to have on your record? Amrstrong was like a machine, a freak, even more so for that period in time. Imagine if he were around today. Pacquiao, given the way he has successfully gone through weight divisions, has been compared to Armstrong, but even Pacquiao would have been overwhelmed by Henry imo.

With modern training methods in place, what type of fighter would Amrstrong have been today?

What a superb boxer he was?

No question mark about it, he truly was a freak. It's one of those records I look at in Boxing (there are only a handful I can think of) & you think to yourself you'd doubt it could be done outside of a Hollywood script, but there it is.

Some time ago, we had a thread here with several options & a poll running for which was the greatest single accomplishment in Boxing history. If memory serves, the consensus pick was Armstrong's title monopoly, & why not?

the only similarity is that over the same period of time hank won the light/feather and welter titles pacman had won the fether/super feather and lightweight

i love the pacman but hank>pacquiao

And Henry was the king in the golden times of only eight divisions and one true World Champion in each...
He was Champion in three weights simultaneously: near of the half of world crowns in one man!

And boxing was probably at it's pinnacle in both popularity and participation.

They probably heard it from Emanuel Steward. The casual fan sometimes will take whatever they hear from someone famous and repeat it.

While I don't think Steward believes this but I think he was hyping Hbo's fighter.
