hatton isnt the greatest but he's improved loads and i've seen his last few fights and he's boxed really nicely.

n'dou has been in top quality company as he says but he is 38 and going to a very pro Hatton crowd and the younger Hatton may be able to nick this fight.

the belt doesnt mean a lot in this fight really, the ibo are a minor organization but n'dou would be a great name on his record and would really up his value with promoters.

I hope Hatton wins but dont see it happening N'Dou only loses at the highest level and I dont think Hatton is at that level. Should be a good fight though

Fair dues. I think the Brook fight is a bad style for him. This one is very winnable. I reckon he'll carry the early and final rounds to take a close decision, sorry, I meant 'robbery'.
Why robbery ?

sounds like normal service to me. Picking on Francis Jones for a rematch 7 days after Jones went the distance with Nuumbembe. He hadn't fancied this fight Jones had clamoured for for 15 months before that point. Ted Bami was way past his best when they met earlier this year. That Yank Houghtling was on his way to prison after the fight wasn't he? So well motivated for that one. Takie....old as the hills.
Still chit chatting about that British title I see.....chit chat chit chat.....
I hope N'Dou royally spanks the granny out of him.

he got drubbed actually but apparently it was an "off night"...and "no disrespect to Watson" but if they fought again Hatton would be too good for him.....  ......like he would for Kell Brook I suppose.......that sounded like a fckin joke to me. They were offered Brook at 2 weeks notice. I don't bloody think so.
This kid was on record 2 years ago....(he's always on record, that's the trouble with a big mouth) saying he'd fight any Welter in Britain on 8 weeks notice.........must have gone down to a fortnight without me realising it  .....the man's all about safety first....I think they're waiting for the Lonsdale to be held by a stiff before a 39yr old Hatton with 145 wins under his belt has a crack at it.....

Come on Lovermore...Shut him up!

I have a feeling Matthew Hatton will win a close points decision. He does blow hot and cold but on his night he looks a decent fighter, I believe Watson was an off night for him. I think that Ricky may be able to offer alot of advice to him and although Matthew is no Ricky, the information and tips will be valuable.

Just to clarify Hatton WAS offered Brook at short notice, though it may not have been 2 wks. and he DID accept the fight but baulked when the other side asked for options, a fact confirmed by Brook's team. not saying Matt's great or would beat Brook, just feel its important to state the facts... like the anal fcuk I am!

I feel for Matt Hatton. Nice fella I'm sure, born after his amazingly popular brother, now steps into the limelight with all the experience of his brother's career to xerox in conversation he's bound to sound a bit deludeD, no deluded isn't the right word. But you get what I'm driving at hopefully.

I wish him well with Lovemore, but as my policy of always supporting the guy I've spoken to hasn't run into the obstacle of two fighters I've spoken to, I'll hope the old fella can win this.

However, promoter, location, cut is against him.

i think it will have to be pretty close for Hatton to get the nod. If Lovermore wins clearly over 12 rounds I'm not sure if I had a new promotional outfit I'd want to attract scandal. And he is given some shockingly favourable decision it will only attract more cynicism about his record. Lovermore will really need to be 4 maybe more rounds clear to get this, in my own opinion. But I think that he will be, either that or his greater experience will see him find a way to take out Hatton.

I think Ndou is underestimating Hatton and "Magic" Matthew might pull off a shock and nick the fight on points if he can stay out of trouble. Ndou has had a long hard career and the Hattons might have timed this perfectly.

I read Graham Houston's preview on fightwriter.com earlier, and found myself nodding in agreement at times. Logically, Ndou should win. But if he's just a bit overconfident, I don't think it's that far-fetched to imagine Hatton winning. Location cannot be overstated in this one. Ndou is (or at least, was) good, but not that good. If Matthew boxes well, he can win. I think he'll need the benefit of the doubt in some close rounds, but I do think he can win a decision.

Admittedly, with his brother as promoter, that's not that surprising. I mean a decision that isn't a flat-out robbery.

My money would still be on Ndou, mind you. Not sure why people are getting worked up about it being for a 'world title', though, apart from the obvious fact that it isn't. (If that makes sense). We've all seen far worse fights on these shores for 'world title' belts. At least this is a Brit in a fight where he's not 20-1 on, which we've seen far too often, many times with regards to supposedly more reputable belts. I'm treating it as it is: a decent fight. If the IBO are handing out a belt, well, I can live with that.

I'm surprised that Ndou only jetted in this week, having been in SA for a couple of weeks. He doesn't seem to be taking the bout that seriously, and again i read this about-to-become-a-lawyer stuff. Realistically at 38 he's not going to get another real title shot, so it's retirement fund time.

Is that all enough for a Hatton pts win though? I think it is (10/3 with sportingbet). Maybe even a cheeky fiver on by-majority-decision at 33/1 with Skybet

I feel some on here are massively overrating Ndou's abilities. He's alright but nowt special.

Home advantage, the fact he's naturally bigger and signs of improvement of late point to a Hatton points win for me. He might have to dig in a bit at the end like he did against Tackie but i think he'll have done enough by then.

Tell me the Tackie victory ahead of his Hattons fight that makes you believe he and NDou are similar.

Tackie was a lot further down the other side of the hill than Lovemore.

Hatton may have timed this just right, or may have gotten it just wrong. But I'd say its preciously close.

He beat Phillip NDou this year, following points defeats to Maglinaggi and Cintron in the last twelve months.

Tackie was two years removed from his last victory and on a five defeat run.

And Lovemore was always more competitive at elite level than Tackie.

Like I've said, this is an intriguing fight between two top 30 guys. One trying to climb the peak, the other with his heels stuck in the guttering, refusing to be pushed.

The possibility of Lovemore NDou v Ricky Hatton in South Africa in the week before England's first World Cup game strikes me as a long-shot but not beyond comprehension either.
