BoxRec

I was on the road this weekend and hoped to look at the BoxRec forums while away from base using my laptop. No such luck.

Every time I tried to read the British/Irish forum I kept getting a message saying that I did not have permission to view the forum, even though I had successfully logged in!

Now I am back at base, I can read everything OK, using my main (desktop) computer.

My query is this: For security reasons, does BoxRec allow access to ALL forums (including British/Irish) from ONE computer IP address only?

I'm experiencing a similar problem and it's one that cropped up a couple of months ago as well. At that time John Shep told me to clean out my browsing history and that should help, so I've done the same here, but it's still proving to be problematic!

You have to clear cookies. That solved it for me

It was the same for me Saturday & Sunday morning, come the afternoon if started working normally again. Graham I think it was more of a problem on Boxrec's side rather than your laptop.

I had the same problem over the weekend when trying to access the site using my usual browser (Firefox), but no problem when I used Safari. It's now working again with Firefox.

Thanks for the responses, gentlemen. I tried the laptop again a little while ago, back at home base, and I was able to get access to the British/Irish forum just fine, so maybe it was merely a technical glitch with the website that has now been cleared up.

I had the same issue over the weekend too.

I cleared cookies and then logged on ok then.

I think it might have been a cookie / server problem.

It failed for me too, so it was not just your PC Graham.

Yeah, I had a similar problem. I'd log in, and then be immediately logged out again. Clearing my Cookies solved it.

I had the same problem as well over the weekend but its all sorted now.
