Larry Tonight

I see Larry is fighting tonight and he will be able to understand what I ment in the thread titled "Stamina, Punch, Speed, Natural Ability" but he has Maloney. To be fair I have critised him in the past but respect to the guy because he is doing it and improving massively all the time :TU:

A bit too eager. Not jabbing enough. Poor punching technique. Poor footwork.

Fury/McDermott/Chisora/Sexton would all beat him handily. Needs to work on using the jab.

Good body shots though.

If i'm right then Larry had very little amateur experience?

I wouldn't knock tonights fight to much, yes he needs to jab with authority more, but no-one looks good against his opponent. Both Price and Burton looked the same against him.

Give him time, needs to lose some muscle though :TU:

His physique is OK imo, it's his technique that needs work. I'm not sure it will happen for him though. No matter how much you polish a turd, it's still a turd. I'm not saying he is a turd, just using an analogy. His footwork and punching technique doesn't look like he has the ability to improve. It won't be long before he is beaten again imo. No point in being nice about it, we all know his level.

He's learning his trade and has a damn good attitude, so would like to offer constructive criticism.

There is a fair amount to work on, his footwork was novicy (understandable) today. He seemed to be shuffling and not relaxed in there.

I wonder how many "tricky" opponents he has had in sparring, cause normally punch technique is not something I have criticised him before - but I thought it he seemed to be slapping at times.

On the positives, its natural to not look as impressive during some fights as he is learning, trying out somethings, and he is obviously listening to his corner and delivered some nice body shots. Stamina is improving also!

He looked relaxed and calm. Picking some good shots and id improving!

Larry looked to be having fun in there at times.

Learning fight and without the amateur background this is what is needed and no late fade.

Good learning fight for him, he will have learnt a lot tonight, a lot of credit to his opponent.

Nice one Larry! Keep it up mate! :TU:

Sorry to hijack Big Larry's thread - what happened with Ian Lewison the other night? He floored
Dogovs (who beat Hannah in his pro debut but it was close by all accounts) three times in the
2nd round I think but ended up with a draw?

Have a day off,lirva.

Come back in18 months and then we will all know the deal. But for now stfu and see how he develops.

7 fights 6 wins and improving. Learning stages then when ready move up a level. Problem is he is getting the experience on tv so its easy to pick fault.

Time will tell but last night was a step in the right direction!

Gwann Larry! It's a long road but hard work experience and relaxation and you have a good chance!

Just stay a :D way from Price for the timebeing!

Ps. Lirva/snoopy loopy is the resident dickhead so ignore him.

Glad you've rumbled hm as well DG - Lirva can change his user name as many times as he likes, but he's so easy to spot due to all the idiotic postings.

x3. When you have an arsehole personality, you can't hide behind constantly changing your username.

Lirva has no class. Never has and probably never will.
