Taylor v Ward

They are scheduled to face of next as part of the super six tournament. Its doubtful wether Taylor will take any further part in this, but assuming that he does, how do you see this fight going?

All the pluses are on Ward's side, he's the younger, fresher fighter on the way up, whereas Taylor is on a terrible run and looks on the way out. But its not cut a dried for me, Taylor did well in the second Pavlik fight, many thinking he won it. He was clearly going to outpoint Froch until the knock out. I was surprised by how much stronger Abraham appeared to Taylor, but Taylor still boxed relatively well against a very awkward style.

I would lean toward Ward, probably by late KO as Taylor clearly fades down the stretch. But i'd like to see Taylor take this fight. I was all for him retiring after the Abraham KO, but I think Ward's style would suit him better than Abraham. Victory would see him a world champion again, not a bad way to redeem himself from a terrible run of losses.

How do others see this fight going, anyone else giving Taylor a chance against Ward?

PS. does anyone know what Taylor's plans are?

I echo everything you have just written, think Ward will take him but it's a very good chance for Taylor to bounce back.

What happens if Taylor gets KOed again? It would surely lead to him pulling out of the Super 6 and that would really mess up the tourney. If he had of pulled out after the Abraham fight it wouldn't have been a big deal and maybe Allan Green could have been brought in. But what happens if after the second round of fights Taylor gets beaten and withdraws, what happens the Super 6 then, surely be too late too call in a replacement would it?

He has a good chance and I think Taylors odds will be value for money either way. Valuev is the only one I picked same as you even though I picked Kessler in prediction league but changed my mind the week before the fight.

Taylor's problems are, he keeps his left low making him open to right hands, he telegraphs his shots, he punches inefficently which uses up allot of energy, he fades down the stretch, he backs up in straight lines, he doesnt have an inside game, he doesnt hit that hard and his survival skills arent too good. He is/was a great athlete with amazing speed but all those flaws are expoitable and Ward is by far the more complete fighter.

You never know in boxing, but Ward rightfully will be a massive favourate
